Cronenberg's Crash is very good, too. Holly Hunter, James Spader, Deborah Kara Unger, Roseanna Arquette.

Wonderfully messed up movie.

A couple of mind-fuck movies I really enjoyed were The Game (Michael Douglas, Sean Penn, Deborah Kara Unger) and Memento (Guy Pearce, Carrie-Anne Moss, Joe Pantoliano.)

Pleasantly disturbing films - Pretty challenging, but satisfying.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a great mind-fuck movie too.

Beautiful Girls- A great movie that i'm sure a lot of people from any smaller WNY town can relate with

Boondock Saints- William Defoe steals every scene he's in

300- Best period movie since Gladiator

Rambo- A lot of people didn't give it a chance, maybe because Sly's going on 75, but it was really pretty good (Same with Balboa)

Just a few I saw on the DVR rack while sitting at the computer. Didn't really want to think too hard.

im about 100% sure that 300 can not be considered a period piece :confusion-scratchheadyellow:. Sweeney Todd is more of a period piece the 300.

Rambo was beyond ridiculous. he rips a guys throat out when he has a machete at his side. its a total wtf moment.

I also recommend: Romeo Is Bleeding (Gary Oldman, Annabella Sciorra, Lena Olin, Roy Scheider.)

Sad and disturbing - Roy Scheider's cameo as an aging Mafia king-pin is wonderfully menacing.

The Professional - Jean Reno, Natalie Portman. Slick Euro, shoot-'em-up with a sweet sub-plot about a hardened hit-man trying to raise an orphan.

The Thomas Crown Affair - Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo, Dennis Leary. Tight, elegant, cat-and-mouse story of art theft, courting and romance.

The Usual Suspects - Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, Kevin Pollack, Benicio Del Toro. Another good mind-fuck, with some very quotable quotes and a very charismatic cast.
