It is such a secret place, the land of tears. The Little Prince is a great book. That and The Giving Tree will always be among my favorites. |

Everyone will probally think it's gay because of the movie and the girly sounding title, but "The Lovely Bones" is one of my favorite books of all time. Anyone who has read it will agree with me. |

Rud wrote: mechaphil wrote: I think I'm going to finally get around to reading The Road. Soooooooooo good I concur. Cormac McCarthy is one of my favorite writers, maybe my favorite, and The Road ranks second to only Blood Meridian on my personal CM list. But The Road is much shorter and easier to read than Blood Meridian, so it could be a good starting point if you've never read any of his books. Anyone see the movie? I wanted to see it on the big screen but it sort of came and went in a flash. Nick Cave composed the score. |

It either came out yesterday or is coming out next week. I want to see it, too, but I won't until I read it. Nick Cave composing the score makes me want to see it even more. |

acrossthelines wrote: The Giving Tree will always be among my favorites. YES. That book forever makes me well up. I just picked up the Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway. He's an author I've never given much of a try, so we'll see how it goes. A really awesome series that's impossible to put down if you're into mystery/suspense is the Prey series by John Sandford. It follows this badarse cop around, Lucas Davenport, who's constantly cracking down on gruesome serial killers. They're fantastic. |
