I was hoping to see some orbs, but they apparently didn't want to make an appearance.

This crpyt was amazing but in horrible disrepair

The inner doors were gone so I stuck my camera between the iron gate and wall to find this

This one was even better. A crypt had been completely looted. No coffins or bodies. Just the poles that held the caskets up :o

This, is creepy as hell! But cool in the same breath!!!

I was going to jump into the last one, but there was no safe way to get out. The drop was about 8' and the brick walls were crumbling. I didn't want to get stuck in there ;)

Crypts are intriguiging. The notion of the constructing an elaborate edifice to house one's earthly remains...

Looks like it would make a great wine-cellar. :D

I have always been struck by the unkempt markers. Small, badly eroded sandstone and shale stones, worn almost smooth by time and the elements.

It has always saddened me to see the end-product of all of one's days - An entire life, gone and neglected. No survivors to tend to their loved ones - The survivors long-dead.

And their markers, as well, equally untended. Lives gone by and unacknowledged, as though they had never existed.

So many heart-beats. So many smiles and tears. So many dreams...Lost and forgotten.

where did you take these?

Just north of Albany in Troy, NY (Oakwood Cemetery)

There was an overlook in there where you could see forever

if you ever do a cemetary hunt in syracuse there is a good one there (the one phil is talking about) called oakwood

Nice picture! I will put it on my list of cemeteries to visit next time I'm there.

If you guys are into cemeteries PLEASE check out Mike Lynaugh's professional photo's of Evergreen Cemetery in Virginia http://www.mikelynaugh.com/EvergreenCemetery/index.htm. I thought the one I visited was in disrepair, the one in VA has visible skulls and random bones. They are captivating pictures

wow, those pictures are awesome. even if that part of the cemetery isn't in use anymore you would think they would still do upkeep to at least put the vandalized coffins back in order.

I've wanted to do that since FOREVER.

If the Sabres get far in the playoffs this season and that Miller Street by my house is markered "Miller Time" again I'm taking a picture. If nobody does it, I will.

Sometimes, I think it would be cool to transport back to my freshman year of high school for a day.

hahaha for my one art class we have to draw the human form, so we have to take pictures of ourselves to draw, so me and my buddy wanted to do a double piece so we did a tug-o-war and split it down the middle so we each draw our half, we were bored and started to swing the rope, and the person taking our pictures took this one hahaha
