Question here:

Why is a guy who is considered a top 5 draft pick have these stats.

64 overall
B potential

While the other guys who say round 2 or lower, are so much better?

To make it harder to predict greatness.

Potential is huge honestly.

With NHL10 Be a GM I would always sign those guys with B or A potential and they were always 68's or so, then after awhile of them being in the AHL they either won't accept your offer or they are one of the top rated players on your team. Or they go ahead being one of the top rated players on other teams.

It's how I always did my AHL team then.

Was Ovechkin an overall of 68? I don't have a problem with them being low levels, but 68 is a bit low for the top 5. 75 would be nice for the top guy so I can use him at least.

I doubt it because they could evaluate them better, yea I wish the ratings were better still, even though I don't have NHL 11 yet.

NHL 10 was great. The best guy was a 77 overall. Sabres would get an overall 70-73 guy, which is perfect.

i hate having to sign prospects who cant play in the NHL, or they become free agents.

I always signed the guys with B or A potential, they might start out low ratings, but stash them in the AHL for their 3 year rookie contract, and BAM. They go right on up the ratings board and are like 80 rated guys by then.

i hate how impossible it is to score in shootout with a shot, not everyone in the league tries to do a super crazy unrealistic quadruple deke to score
