Hey guys, anyone play this game? I have played the other games in the series and thought I'd go all out evil with this one and just be a murdering bad ass. Can you really play as a bad guy and have benefits or am I just limiting myself? |

I think so and Fallout 3 had a Pitt expansion deal. It was pretty cool but I have to say, post-nuclear Pitt looks a lot like right now Pitt. |

I've put 100+ hours into the game and so far have sided with the NCR and Yes Man. My current playthrough, I'm going with the Legion, and it definitely makes the game harder (granted I'm playing on Hardcore mode this time). But it's definitely fun to not give a crap what factions other than the Legion think of you and kill everyone. EDIT: Just in case you didn't know, there are 4 paths you can take in this game. Side with NCR for an NCR ruled Mohave (aka the good guys - kinda). Side with Yes Man for an independent Mohave. Side with the Legion for a Legion ruled Mohave (aka the bad guys). Side with Mr. House for his army of Securitrons to rule the Mohave. |

I played the hell out of Fallout 3 and always got sick of having to do some fucking quest to get something when all I had to do was shoot the weak fucker in the face and take it. I just started New Vegas and killed everyone in the first town.....thought I'd ask about how it will be if I keep on this path or if I should start over and be a good guy. So meet up with the Legion and kill everyone else...got it. Hahahaha! |

What a bunch of malarky. You go into a shop and the guy has 600 caps...so you shoot him only to find out that now he doesn't. What the heck? All you get is some lousy xp and a mob after you. |

Yes, you can't take caps off of merchants if you kill them. It's lame, I know. And even though it's fun to kill everyone, it makes the game very hard when everyone tries to kill you on sight. Also, one other negative about getting everyone to vilify you makes it so you can't access certain sidequests. |

i have and love this game, although, i was a goodie two shoes for the most part haha, but believe me, i killed my fair share of mofo's that deserved it haha |

It's fun but I really hate how little you get for being a bad guy. I fucked me up some NCR guys to free some Khans and I didn;t get much other than a ranger coming to cap my ass. |

While, doing bad things against the NCR is good for the Legion. If you're still early in the game, you wouldn't have really encountered the Legion much. You don't even see them until you get to Nipton, and then they aren't prominent again until after you talk to Benny in his casino. But I think the game is the most fun when you're playing in an independent New Vegas (with Yes Man). I also think it's WAY more fun to play with melee weapons as opposed to guns. There's nothing cooler than whacking people with "Oh Baby!" (a unique super sledge - most powerful melee weapon in the game) with the bloody mess perk and watching your enemies explode into a bloody mess. |
