I played the demo today and it is fucking EPIC.

A BioWare trademark (that I love) was always being able to move to a targeted spot on the screen. This allowed for some tactical positioning before and during fights, but for whatever reason they did not use it in Dragon Age. They brought it back for DA2! So now I got the best of both worlds, I can pause the game and send everybody to targeted positions, and i can still go in and tweak each characters individual tactics. So if I want to have my dwarf warrior go postal on every mage he sees, I can set that up. And I can still have everybody scatter like roaches when an ogre comes charging into view. This is my only complaint from DA, and DA2 addressed it!

The graphics are even better, even the lightning fast rogue maneuvers are detailed and robust looking. And it's still the same overly brutal blood bath as the original, not cartoony and detailed enough to keep your eyes bugging. The maneuvers, character development, story line, sub plots, graphics, voice acting, and audio are all 2nd to none. Another masterpiece, must own RPG for those who like the genre.

The only annoyance was the incredibly small font used for the load screen hints. I could barely make it out with a 58" screen! I hope they address that.

PC gamer gave it a 94 out of 100, should be an amazing game.

Just picked it up yesterday. It's very good. Played about 7 hours. story is ok, but the combat and character interaction is much improved.

It's loading right now, I hope to get a couple hours in before face-off.

Yep, pretty much everything I wrote about the demo holds true (including the eye strain whilst trying to read load screen hints...), except for the part when I went to read some shit I found written on a shield and then it froze. Had to shut the damn power off and I probably lost everything cause i didn't even get far enough to save once.

I doubt this is the first time EA and BioWare have teamed up, but if it is there might be a ton of bugs in this game. My ps3 never crashed once through origins, awakenings, and any other game...

It's got a great feel to it, with the faster action, enhanced graphics and surround sound I feel like I need my own movie trailer, like the kind actors chill out in between takes! lol

I'll try it again tomorrow.

LOVE the game so far.
I thought it was really cool that they imported all the decisions I made in Origins.

I'm getting one little graphics glitch, there are these tiny little dots of white, which I think are meant to show light reflection but it doesn't look natural. I played around with some settings but nothing so far. Have you noticed that too? I played through it but it's almost too immersive for me right now, because I play for an hour a day while I ride 15 miles on a bike. So I want to just fight stuff because my heart rate is up, but the game kind of has me being really plot conscious. I usually end up not pedaling and don't realize it for like 5 minutes lol

So I am back to playing awakenings and DA1 DLC during daily exercise.

DA2 requires like a 5 hour window of full attention.

BTW that pic is hilarious, and I cracked up when he appeared at the doorstep before the final fight. That was the ONLY time hearing him say that didn't annoy the hell out of me. lol

Are you playing on a console or PC?

I'm playing on a PC with an Nvidia Gforce GTX 480 with 2Gigs on it and it runs great. (Haven't seen any graphics issues)
I've actually been impressed the most with how fast the main game and subsequent game saves load. I can go from desktop to playing in about 1 minute.

PC.

GeForce 9800GT I think, 1GB on that, 4GB in the machine. I'm only like an hour in, but I haven't seen any problems yet.

Little slower to load, but that's an overall machine problem. Only running a dual core 64 bit, early model AMD.

I'm using a PS3 on a big 58" plasma

the console version of the game only lets me adjust the brightness, which is totally weak! I have some very detailed white color graphics to tweak and my receiver has settings too. never seen that with DAO, so I dunno.

Can't help ya with a console version :)
All my serious gaming is on PC and that rig is the only machine I have running windows.

Playing RPG's or RTS games always seem inherently easier with a keyboard / mouse combo for me.

Freak Squad is coming 2mrw to replace an HDMI port, so maybe I'll ask for suggestions.

The Geek Squad kids called me gay and told me too get a girlfriend, the other one called me "broke dick homo" and crapped on my coffee table.

I cried while peeing my pants.

They didn't fix the TV either, instead they said something about a "tea party" at my mom's house.

I assume the worst...

:(

Just finished the game as a Warrior, playing the "hero" type (aka answering everything nicely) now I'm gonna go through and play as a Blood Mage probably.

Don't spoil anything for me! It's gonna take some time seeing as how I got the sudden urge to remodel the house again.
