The Senate finance committee just voted down the "Public option".

Democrats have no idea how to exploit or even use power when they get it.
Sorry Stuuuuu'uu's' and Zilla. I honestly feel bad for you guys...you've just been betrayed.

Yeah, the House is the only well, house, that gets it I guess. I heard an clip of Chuck Schumer saying that this bill basically puts the wants of insurance companies and their desire for profit ahead of the concerns of the people. Pretty hard to dispute that IMO. I can only console myself with the fact that that was only one committe's bill, not the full Senate's. Also, I'm consoled by the fact that it seems the House will include a public option, and the two houses will have to come to consensus in a conference committee.

But yes, I do feel betrayed.

That's a pretty optimistic view man....
This particular bill is doomed because it's got things both sides hate. It's basically down to: no cost-cutting, mandates and no public option.

I'm afraid the house is your best bet for the public option and even for that Pelosi would have to use political capital she doesn't have.
I don't think it has a prayer in the senate.

My best bet is we end up with the worst of both worlds (all in the name of getting "something" passed) and nothing is really accomplished.
