I'm still sifting through which is more strange about this proposal. The fact that it comes from Jerry Brown or the fact that the entire state of California only allocates $30 million a year for public libraries. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/jacketc ... nding.html This just shows he's willing to cut deep, just not in the right places (IMO, such as pensions). When you're $25 billion in the hole, you need to go after meat, not scrape away at the bare bone of the public library system. |
