I also want to mention that there is a lot misinformation about taxation itself in this thread.

The US has some of the LOWEST individual tax rates in the world, while corporate rates are higher than the rest of the world. Also, tax rates are the last thing a company really considers for doing business, considering that wage is expense is usually the largest expense on the income statement. The politicians may tout that tax rates need to be lowered to spur business, but any accountant working in international tax will probably tell you different.

I think I had him reeling at that point, and he didn't know what to say. jk I believe he thinks if you work for the government, and they tax your wages, it's double taxation. Even though in this case, the worker probably pays little to no taxes anyways. I could be wrong though.
