Christians love him. We, as a country, are fucked. Because there is no other hope, people have turned to "God".

The world depicted in V for Vendetta isn't so far fetched...

Not all of them do, i still find him scary as all hell. And, what i can see from the Orthodox board i post on, most of my Church(Eastern Orthodox) does as well.

From what i can tell, there is still a strong pull for Ron Paul.

Santorum appeals to the Catholics and wackjobs, of which he is both.

there are a lot of people who are polarized on what the original translation was: dominion or stewardship. the part i am most pissed about is that he used them interchangeably like they are the same word. stewardship is NOT dominion.

I'm a christian, i believe in God. if i were responsible for the extinction of an animal, when I die, I'd expect God to ask me if I thought I was being a good steward of HIS creatures by permitting a pipeline through critical habitat for an endangered species. i'd be embarrassed as all hell and would be ashamed.

his rhetoric is absolutely disgusting. i can understand viewpoints that conflicted with mine. had he said "we were granted dominion over the beasts" and stayed consistent with that, i wouldn't be as mad. to do stuff like this is reprehensible. i'd love to punch him right in his stupid pretty boy face.

If you think he's a pretty boy then you just be one hell of a Toxic Avenger looking SOB. :D

If I were a religious man, and I used to be, I'd be pissed that someone would twist Genisis to support a 'rape and pillage' mentality towards resources. As an atheist I am pissed simply by his ignorance of ignoring the (IMO) glaringly self evident philosophy of not shitting where one sleeps. To use religion to back a sense of entitlement just makes me want to kick squirrels. Which coincidentally may be the only thing Santorum and I have in common.

Morning news had interviews with people from the primaries in alabama, and somewhere else. When they interviewed people attending Santorums rally, the two people they interviewed (or the two they actually played) had this to say:

(paraphrasing)
1) Strong southern drawl female: "I just dont think it's right, you know, as americans, to keep a muslim president in office"

2) Lesser southern drawl male: "The constitution itself says that Obama is a illegal president. Both mother and father have to be born in the US, so that no one has loyalty to another nation" (no, actually the constitution does not say that)

At that point I bludgeoned myself to death with my clock radio. This is my ghost typing this.

Dude...it's fucking Alabama.

It's still illegal to homebrew beer in Alabama because they think it'll corrupt the youths.

Besides them having a primary election today let's just pretend it's every other day of the year and ignore their ignorant asses.

I'm planning a visit with my dads family down in North Carolina and this kind of ignorance is exactly what I'm afraid of. These are family that my dad hasn't seen since he was a boy and I have never met them. From our phone calls and emails, they are some seriusly backwood hillbillies. Going all by myself. Just me, my toothbrush and all my liberal elite view points. I'm afraid.

Oh man, it's beautiful around there! You'll be in the mountains, so the dog days of summer could be a good time to go. The leaves turning colors in the fall could also be a good time. You can ski there in the winter.

ANNNNND HEEEEE'S OUT OF HERE!

Quote:
GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum said Tuesday he is suspending his campaign.
He made the announcement at the Gettysburg Hotel in Gettysburg, Pa., talking about his young daughter's illness and reflecting on the campaign.
His 3-year-old daughter Bella was taken to a Virginia hospital Friday with pneumonia. Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, left the campaign trail until this afternoon. The child has a life-threatening genetic disorder known as Trisomy 18.
"She's a fighter," said Santorum, standing beside his wife and children. "She's doing exceptionally well."
Santorum also faces an uphill battle against front-runner Mitt Romney in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Five states, including Santorum's home state of Pennsylvania, hold primaries April 24.

Romney is spending $2.9 million in TV ads in Pennsylvania. Romney is far ahead of Santorum in the race for delegates to the Republican National Convention and is the party's likely nominee.
Romney said after Santorum concluded his speech at about 2:45 p.m: “Sen. Santorum is an able and worthy competitor, and I congratulate him on the campaign he ran. He has proven himself to be an important voice in our party and in the nation. We both recognize that what is most important is putting the failures of the last three years behind us and setting America back on the path to prosperity.”
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is still in the GOP race with Texas Rep. Ron Paul, also praised Santorum for his campaign.
“Rick has waged a remarkable campaign," he said. 'His success is a testament to his tenacity and the power of conservative principles."

Gingrich also reiterated he is commitment to stay in the race to the party's nominating convention in August in Tampa.
"I humbly ask Sen. Santorum’s supporters to visit Newt.org to review my conservative record and join us as we bring these values to Tampa," he added. "We know well that only a conservative can protect life, defend the Constitution, restore jobs and growth and return to a balanced budget."
Paul campaign spokesman Jesse Benton said: “Congratulations to Sen. Santorum on running such a spirited campaign. Dr. Paul is now the last – and real – conservative alternative to Mitt Romney. We plan to continue running hard, secure delegates, and press the fight for limited, constitutional government in Tampa.”

Glad he's gone, but I feel bad for him and his family about his daughters illness. That's really sad. That being said, he probably shouldn't have even been running a campaign considering that.
