If you had to concede that RP wouldn't get the nomination, who would you then support?

People of a Libertarian bent are always stuck in this unsavory position of having to choose between one side which is clearly better on fiscal issues and the other on social issues while both suck at other random specifics.

Rank your priorities and pick a side.

I'm pretty sure I'm much more concerned with economic issues and scaling back our military efforts. Social issues (as selfish as this sounds, I don't care, fuck you) don't affect me, so I don't have a vested interest either way. You can make the case that any restriction of freedom does affect me, and to a point, you'd be right. However; in the strife to return the country to its core values, there weren't stipulations for gay marriage back then, either.

I've always been socially liberal, fiscally clueless, so, a democrat. I found it a lot easier to keep track of social changes, than to understand the intricasies of national and international monetary policy (imo). Plus, quite frankly, both sides seem to be just as irresponsible with the purse strings, while the left is clearly better with social issues.

However, I have to admit that for the first time im aware of a real alternative to massive defense spending, and it is enticing enough to ignore some real issues I have with a possible Paul presidency. I'd vote for the old codger if he got the GOP nod (not a chance), and possibly if he went independant.

We can hold this up as an example of someone actually having their minds changed, if only for the alarming lack of attractive alternatives.

Takes a big man to keep an open mind these days. I applaude you.

It's such a lose-lose situation for me. Both Obama and Romney supported #NDAA. Obama, I suppose, is less likely than Romney to go after Iran.

Obama ran his campaign on a few issues that I sided with him on, but he fucking flip flopped on them. Then again, Romney's going in vocally against those issues, as well.

That's why I won't cast a vote for either of them. I'll be writing in Ron Paul's name, and I'm sure most of his supporters will be doing the same. At the very least, it'll bring more awareness to the growing support of libertarian principles.

THAT is a win for me.

Yeah hash itself has a much wider appeal when you think about it. I'll be voting for hash.

Also his news letters expressed racist and anti-Semitic sentiments. He says he knew nothing about it and didn't even know who wrote it. That means he's either a liar and a bigot, or he so clueless he has no idea what his boosters are expressing on his behalf, and again so clueless that it took him forever to even try to really distance himself from those newsletters, which he still hasn't done effectively. Not a strong candidate IMO.

The fact that Newt Gingrich has as many votes as he does is... Sickening. As a person, he's both incredibly idiotic, and not a good person at all. Only a hypocrite would cheat on two of his three wives, one when she had cancer, and preach morality and the sanctity of marriage... Then saying straight out black people need to get jobs then not finding anything wrong with saying that makes him an idiot.

N... I have no idea who to vote for. Ron Paul has shown he's someone I just can't vote for, and that was my #1 choice...

Ralph Nader?
