I didn't realize how the Caucus process worked, but I guess that, despite Ron Paul not garnering the most votes in many of these states, he might be walking away with all of the delegates because of the persistence and determination of his supporters.

This video is a great explanation of how it works:

Does this sound right to you, Ed? I trust your judgement on this stuff.

It's been obvious that's his strategy, the only problem is the binding winner-take-all states....the really big ones with a ton of delegates.

Florida, California, New York etc.
For example, Romney took florida, all of those delegates go to him. Period. There's no caucus about it.

IMO Super Tuesday will be the effective end of things. Paul very well may make a stir at the convention but he won't have a majority of delegates going after caucus states alone.

How are delegates selected in the Primary states? How do they ensure those delegates vote for Romney if he wins in NY?

It depends on the state.
States with caucuses are pretty wide open and delegates can change their mind.
States with primaries either have bound or unbound delegates. Unbound delegates can vote at the primary for a nominee that technically lost their state. States with bound primaries require the delegates to vote for the candidate that won the state.

I'm not sure whether New York's delegates are bound or unbound, but it is winner take all.

Hmmm... How to become a delegate for Romney... :D ;)
