Some of my family is from there....and I am planning a visit. Me thinks it will be interesting....if I don't get lynched. Tattooed, athiest, artist trumps military vet, hunter, outdoorsman and good father any day of the week. Hahaha! |

What I've learned after living in two other areas since moving from NY, is that there truly are good people and idiots no matter where you go. I haven't found much descrepency in the percentages in any area, just a difference in the reasons why they are good or idiots. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with you visit...well, unless your family is a bunch of toothless rednecks living in a trailer that eat squirrel and coon. |

Man, ANOTHER case of people trying to pass legislation basically straight from the bible. I'm finding it harder and harder to 'respect peoples religion', when their religion is the reason they give for wanting to oppress segments of the population. |

Well it's not legislation, just a religious leader using his power to spread hate. I think, morally, when you are afforded the place of role model and spiritual leader, you fail those that look to you for leadership when you bend the gospels to support your hate. The teachings of Jesus are pretty straight forward, down to earth summaries of human morality. Pretty shitty to see something with such good intentions be twisted by this sicko. Not to mention the people in his flock who's ideas are being strengthened and swayed by this shit. |
