As per WGR...I'm happy about the status...he took a nasty hit from Ruutu and I thought it was an instant concussion

Well, he played tonight. McKee knows this firsthand.

Ruutu can go to hell, I hope when Buffalo plays Ottawa again that Kaleta runs the douche out of the rink.

Lindy Ruff says Kaleta is ready to go, but is holding him out tonight to make sure he's 110% for Friday's game against the Leafs.

Read it here

Always glad to get a key cog back. Though I've been impressed with the way we've played, particularly the energy level we've carried late in the game without Kaleta.

If everyone on the team played as hard as Kaleta we'd win the Stanley Cup every year.

Hopefully Pat can get the team energized prior to the start of the third period, and always, open up a little space on the ice!! ;)

Any report on how serious his injury was? I'd really hate being without him against motherfucking Ottawa.

He took a shot off the left foot.

My guess is that best case, it's a bad bruise (could miss a game or two).

Worst case is a broken foot....

Just saw on WGR that his x-rays were negative, and he's day-to-day with a bad bruise. Sure hope we have him for motherfucking Ottawa.

Shit.

Quote:
Patrick Kaleta, who suffered a bruised foot Monday in Pittsburgh, will miss at least Wednesday's game against Ottawa and likely more.

"It looks like he’s going to miss some time," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said after today's Kaleta-less practice in HSBC Arena. "Nothing showed up on X-rays, but he’s going to have a tough time walking on it, so he’s going to miss some time."

Kaleta was injured 2:16 into the 5-4 loss to the Penguins after blocking a shot by Martin Skoula. Kaleta tried one more shift later in the period but headed to the dressing room after that.

"I’m not going to put any time frame," Ruff said. "It’s possible that he could start feeling better by tomorrow. It’s just how it responds."
