From the camera angles you can't really tell either way, my point being, that a shoulder to the head is possible on body checks, as long as you don't leave your feet, or drive the man through the boards with your shoulder it's a legal and clean hit.
It wasn't a dirty hit, it wasn't an overly aggressive hit, it's a hockey hit.
The hit on Roy wasn't much different. It just so happens he's only about 5'7, where as Umberger has the good fortune of being 6'3
