    Tyler Myers update

Rookie defenseman Tyler Myers has a large welt on the right side of his neck but said after tonight's game he expects to practice Wednesday and play Thursday night in Carolina. Myers was struck by the puck when he deflected Daniel Paille's slapshot with 42 seconds left in regulation.

"When it first happened, I was wheezing a bit," said Myers. "But then it calmed down and I don't think it will be any more than some stiffness after tonight."

Myers played 28 minutes, 17 seconds in the game, just 15 seconds off his season high. And remember he missed the last six minutes. He scored the tying goal late in the second period, his eighth of the season.

Thank jesus! It'll be sore as hell for sure, but he should be in the line up. He'll battle through it. The kid is tough.

Not gonna lie, but I couldn't help but think of the Miller injury last season when I saw Myers go down. It might just be the chronically pessimistic Sabres fan in me, but for a minute I was pondering any playoff success we might have this season spiraling down the drain. Thank GOD he is ok....

I think its natural for any hockey player to be panicky when they get hit in the neck. He looked kinda scared when he first got hit...and I, for one, was really scared for ALL of us!!

I knew he'd be perfectly fine when he sat down on the bench.

Better to take him out that game and make sure nothing is wrong then let him play and make something wrong.
