And Looods is healing slower than expected

The question is, who would Mair replace in the lineup?

It sounds like Lindy isn't concerned about that yet.
What I gathered from that write-up is Lindy is looking to bring back Toni and Adam at the same time.
2 player roster shuffle.

If Toni isn't ready and goes on the IR, sounds to me like their problems relating to Myers are solved for the short term. By then, the kid will probably have earned a permanent roster spot, thus making it easier for Darcy to try and waive someone. Wishful thinking, I know...

I hope they don't waive Ellis.

I think what the move will be is to Waive Paille, and assuming he is claimed, it frees up 1.1M on the cap, which makes it easier for us to make a move and take on some salary at the deadline.

Yea, I can definitely see that happening. Except all it does is put Mair in the press box, instead of out on the ice, just like Paille was during the first game. Either way, I insist that Regier find a way to keep Kennedy up as long as he doesn't fuck it up.

Mair would probably replace Paille, he (Paille) might be put on waviers.

To think that one year ago Paille was a physical MACHINE...a blue and gold terminator on the ice destroying every Canadien in his way during opening night. From terminator to exterminator...fogging, dusting and clearing out the cobwebs in the press box. How does a player accomplish such an awful turnaround in just one year?

I blame Hecht!!

Or Darcy, Larry, Lindy, Gary Bettman, etc. etc.

Aw shit, remember one of the mid-season games against the Habs, when Paille went screaming into Price and took out a Habs defenseman on the follow-through? Shit, I thought all of Montreal was going to jump onto the ice to save Jesus!

Cut/waive Mair...he brings nothing needed to the table. Upside = 0

The easiest thing for them to do is just to send Kennedy back. Note how I never said best, said easiest.

Myers will get his 9 game tryout no matter what, there is no way they can keep the kid off the ice.

The thing with Myers is, as you said, they can't keep this kid off the ice. I have a feeling he'll be playing around 20 minuted before his 9-game tryout is over.

DO NOT WANT!

Stop me if I'm wrong, but isn't Paille pretty valuable on the pk? Does mair get pk time? I think I'd rather have Paille than Mair.

And I'd really rather package both to someone for a better player.

Paille is ok on the PK, but Here is the issue:

Pommer, Stafford, Grier, Kaleta, Paetsch all also play RW. And now Vanek has been playing the right side as well.

Gaustad, Connolly, Roy, Kennedy are the only "real" centers we have. We have a surplus of wingers, especially RW. Mair brings more depth at Center, albeit 4th line depth, but still some extra depth.

Post subject:  Re: Mair cleared to play

Paille is a LW, and Vanek will not play RW. Connolly went to RW on that line with Roy and Vanek against Montreal while Stafford was on the 4th line.

For whatever reason though, Paille disappeared last season and shows no signs of returning to Buffalo. Mair brings more toughness and physical play than Paille, and he also scrums and fights more than Paille. Paille has a better scoring touch hidden somewhere from 2007-08, that he can't find anymore. So at this point Mair is the more valuable player, and brings center depth.

Mair > Paille

We weren't talking about waiving anybody last year.

This is a very nice luxury to have.
