Honestly, as bad as I feel for Sekera, this is the best thing that could have happened for the sabres at this point in time. I was hoping that they would scratch Andrej whenever Lydman was ready to go. This situation makes it alot easier to justify keeping Myers in Buffalo also.

Darcy better be looking to dish a d-man pretty soon though. Things are gonna keep getting tighter and we have a few players like Paestch that are lost in the midst of it and are completelly usless assets because of it. We need to make room on the blueline asap.
Also at the forward spot too. We have Paille sitting with Mair still injured. Obviously we will probably have to move one of these bottom six guys. I can't see Tommy G paying 3-4 nhl ready guys to consistently sit every night, especially with the guys in Portland that will probably be nipping at their heels by years end

Wonder how good Myers would be if he was playing with a D-man who wasn't just sucking and pulling his own weight?

Next thing you know he'll be telling us that he's got a headache, he's too tired, etc etc.

I like the Loods Montador pairing on paper.

However, you may all recall there was a time when we used to think Tallinder was a better defenseman than Lydman.

The year was 2005-2006... and it was when we were playing this run and gun high offense and pressure system.

I hope Loods can handle it okay this time around...

Well, things have not remained static in that time, hank has slid downhill quickly after (2?) broken arm/wrist/whatevers. He's been gun shy for two years now, honestly I cant imagine a situation in which i'd rather have him than loods at the moment. Well...maybe in a penalty shot against brodeur....

To which Loods counters with a shootout goal against Jesus Price lol

I'd like to see Loods paired with Myers, and Hank paired with Montador - With Rivet and Butler unchanged.

Either way, it'll be good to see Toni back. He's a tough customer. And a change in partners will force Myers to adapt to another style of play. Good for the learning-curve.

I think it's too soon to change it up on Myers, but I definitely do like the idea of seeing Myers adapt to a different playing style.

Myers would be better off playing with a better defender.

He learns quickly and on the fly and it would do great things for him to play with other players.
