Sabres Bound for Montreal; Roy Not 100%

The Sabres held a practice at the First Niagara Center on Monday before flying to Montreal for Tuesday's game against the Canadiens. Paul Hamilton has noticed forward Derek Roy favoring his leg and asked him about it after practice. Roy said that he is favoring his leg but not because of the quad tear he suffered last season.
"The quad is not the issue any more. It's something else. I've been battling some injuries during training camp. The quad is perfect. The quad is ready to go. It's a couple of other minor injuries. I've shown up every day early and leave the rink late to try to get rid of those little things."
Roy was not specific with what minor injuries he was battling.

All of the players were on the ice for practice. The Sabres host the Canadiens at 7:30 on Tuesday night. Montreal has picked up just one win in 4 games.

I was going to post something a week or two ago about this. It was after Adam was put with Vanek-Pominville that I thought Roy probably has a little way to go yet to be truly 100%. Missing that much time and then getting started again has to leave the knee/leg area with some amount of residual weakness. Hopefully going full speed won't exploit it with another injury. It must not be a serious issue though, so it shouldn't be long before he's right again.
