He can't play in the AHL since he is 19, plus the NHL and Devils cannot have him play for either team until his QMJHL team is eliminated from the playoffs.

And that is a rule between the NHL and the Junior leagues if the Devils break that rule, expect plenty of trouble in the future.

apparently, a player can be signed if hes underaged if he isnt able to participate in juniors. theres a loophole. and the devils have every intention on exploiting it, i guess. thats what i read on TSN.CA.

bad news for you though, etc. they think the most he will face is a fine and probation. and thats the absolute most. maybe they are using the domi hit as sort of a base.

Well on TSN in the other link it said they were going to honor the rule and not bring him to the NHL or AHL until at least next year.

ah, nope. aaron, you are correct. he can be signed by the NHL at 19, but, as you said, his Q team has to be eliminated. so, thank you for that.

but, lou did say they are exploring other avenues for him to resume his playing career soon. we shall see.

I think even Uncle Lou would take a lot of heat if he tried to stash him someone to circumvent the suspension.

No way dude, the Devils' farm boys have been in Lowell since Martin Brodeur was in his earliest 20's.

the logo was created by dave carlson when they were affiliated way back in the early 90s.

edit: yeah, they were the devils affiliates till 06, phil. lowell didnt have a team till 98. and they were the lock monsters till 06, when they became affiliated with the devils.

Best for all concerned to let Cormier sit right now.

He's only 19, ad he plays in an American league where HE CANNOT play in the AHL until at least next year anyways.

If he was playing in an European/Asian league it's different.

not completely true. he isnt eligible for juniors, so the AHL waives the 20 year old floor, BUT, he cant be placed in the AHL now till his Q team is eliminated from the Q playoffs.

players from overseas can join the AHL at 19, but it doesnt happen very often.
