The 45 year old dominated the Czech league, going 24-12 in the regular season with a 2.24 GAA and then going an astonishing 12-1 in the playoffs with a 1.68 GAA. The man still has it, and though it will never happen it would be amazing to see him become our backup next year.

He is good, but a man with NHL experience in that sort of league of course will dominate, not to mention how GOOD he was in the NHL. He would be a decent backup at best in the NHL now.

Thing about Hasek's run to the Czech Extraliga championship that makes his 12-1 record even more impressive is that he lost the first playoff game.

He's too good to be a backup, he could probably still start on most teams in the NHL.

The dominator would have too much pride to come back to the NHL as a backup.

So he will never come back.

So are you saying that there aren't any teams in the NHL that would love to have a goalie like Hasek as their starter?

5-7 years ago, I'm sure a bunch of teams would have loved to have him as a starter. The dude's 45 now.

Hasek would be good enough to be a starter on a few teams without real good goaltending, but he's not as good as he once was. Now all he would be is a good backup to someone.

Panties out of a wad, man. Just sayin' that there's an obvious reason he isn't in the NHL - he isn't getting offers so he's moving up to the next best thing, and if he is getting offers he's turning them down. Plain and simple.
