We did something like this on the old forums.sabres.com for Tyler Myers last season, so I think it's only fitting that we do the same for Zack Kassian this season. So everyone, dump all your thoughts, highlight videos, fight clips, and stat lines for Killer Kassian in here all season!

I'll start with his stats so far, and an article that leads up to that fantastic fight vid ETC posted in another thread.

Image
#9 Zack Kassian
C, Peterborough Petes
Position: RW Shoots: R
Height: 6'3" Weight: 215 lbs.
Born: 1/24/1991 LaSalle, ON

GP: 14 G: 6 A: 6 PTS: 12 +/-: -5 PIM: 33

"Kassian Comes Out Swinging Against Sarnia" (courtesy of Mike Davies and Peterborough Examiner, 11/13/09)
Quote:
Zack Kassian didn’t like being called out by his coach in front of teammates at practice on Wednesday.

So the Peterborough Petes’ captain took his anger out on Sarnia Sting heavyweight Kyle Neuber 3:17 into the first period last night and it sparked a 7-3 victory before a Memorial Centre crowd of 3.177.

Read the rest of that article here.

Kassian and his Petes take the ice next today at home against the Barrie Colts. Game starts at 7PM EST.

He may be ready for the NHL next year, much like Myers was this year, at the age of 19. We have nobody else like him in our entire system...and boy could we use what he brings to the table as a RW.

my only issue is his scoring. for a first rounder, id like to see more scoring. 12 points in 14 games isnt exactly setting the world on fire in terms of scoring in the OHL.

I thought that at first, too, but given the power forward role he's seemingly born to play, of course his scoring is going to suffer a bit while his PIMs rise. I think he'll be just fine, but the team he's on seems to suck...11-12 on the season.

Speaking of setting the world on fire in scoring, Luke Adam (who is with Cape Breton this season) is fourth in scoring in the Q with 34 points (15+19) in 24 games. That's another prospect I'd like to keep my eye on, since he seems white hot this year.

I dont see what is wrong with Kassian's stats. 6g6a in 14 games for the Petes. Looking at the roster it doesnt look like they have any standout players. If Kassian can get a ppg playing for the Pete's I'll be happy. I mean if Kassian is on a line with Hodgson, Hall or Kadri then I can see a reason for concern with those numbers. But since he's not than I have no problem with 6g 6a in 14 games.

Those are our C, A, and A for a while, IMO, though I don't have an earthy as to who will get Captain.

I think if he wants some sort of facial hair, go for the full beard.

It can be. Not as much as the Q but definitely more than the dub. Suprisingly though the OHL has never had a 100 goal scorer. Both the Q and the W have at least one who did.

...he should just go for the badass "Wolverine" look. Get the five-o'clock shadow and some crazy hair going up top, and shave the 'stache. :D

He's got some wicked focus going, in those eyes.

I read today that Kassian will probably make the World Junior Team this year for Canada.
