This kid is something special. Another RWer that looks like he has skill. His ability to be the clutch player on his current team appears to suit him. Named the CCHA player of the week and is a leader in scoring. Here is an article on this kids most recent adventures.

Anyone have any other information on this youngster? He is 20, do any of you see him up in Portland anytime soon?

I dont know if he still is but he was the leading scorer in the nation for a while. I believe this is his third season so he could make the transition to the pro game after this year but I think he'll stay for a fourth year. Tropp's name has kind of been tainte since his incident last year. If u havent seen it there's a video in a thread about our college prospects.

Even if this kid turns out to be something special, idk if I'll be able to look at him the same after that incident. I say trade him, that was intentional and life threatening. People make mistakes, but that was just too much.

Yea sabresEH, I had a chance to view it earlier in the year. I tend not to dwell on something from last season, especially since his production for this season hasn't appeared to be affected and he is progressing. If I am not mistaken he was suspended for the remainder of last season, is that not correct? If that is the case, then he served his sentence, no need to continue to beat him over the head in my book.

If it's in the past, don't hold on to it.

If he really is that dirty of a player, well then we have someone to be agitating the other teams alongside Pattymouth.

Eh don't get me wrong I'm a little excited to see he progressed so well and hopefully he can transition that into the pro game. At the same time what he did was vicious. Bertuzzi's incident is long in the past. But he is still tainted by it. For me and others on the boards, Tropp's name has been. Maybe he can keep going along and show it was a wrong decision in a heated battle. But that doesn't excuse his actions on that night.

I hear ya, But the article also stated that the kid that was attacked was playin hockey the following weekend. I don't like what Tropp did, as I watched the video frame by frame it looks like he whaled on the kids head or neck area. Why in the hell he did that is beyond me. I hope you are correct, I would like to see this kid do well and contribute, but I also like it when players are clean players, not dirty ones.

Tropp's career seems to be ridiculously resurgent after that nasty penalty.
