Is Byron picking up the slack so far?

Horrible games so far this weekend. Lack of effort & sloppy play all around by the Pirates. Too many turnovers to count on Friday in Manchester and Saturday at home. This is not the way to head into the playoffs. Please get well Timmah, and send someone back down. At least Enroth should be ready next weekend. Hope he's not rusty.

When do the playoffs start for our Little Sabres?

After two, the Pirates are up 1-0. Whitmore scores, Lamoureux in net. Ford signed as back-up - Enroth was nowhere to be found at last practice. Adam and Lagace in line-up.

Too bad they had to play the third period, Lamoureux flubbed a poke check to give up the gwg to Holloway.

Hopefully the Sabres/Pirates doubleheader later today improves my mood.

And unfortunately it made it worse. Pirates are down two games to Manchester after losing today 3-1.

Worse indeed. Hopefully the Sabres can lift it on Monday. I'll be in Boston on the glass in my red Ennis Pirates jersey. I'm kid of glad I'll be missing the Pirates game. For now I'll try to cheer up with a screening of "Kick Ass."

Luke Adam is a helluva skater, btw.

Funny you should mention that - one of his biggest knock is (or was) his skating.

Yeah he must have made some big improvements since the WJC because during that tourney you could tell he wasn't the best skater. Definitely didn't prevent him from playing well because he was one of Canada's best players. Maybe Tommy G paid for a skating instructore???

Pirates lose 7-2 and are swept out of the post season. Mancari and Gerbe net the only markers for the Pirates.

Pirates outshot the Monarchs 46-29, but Todd Ford was pulled after allowing three goals on twenty shots. JP Lamoureoux played in relief, allowing four more goals including an empty netter.
