Portland lost a couple of close ones coming into tonight's 4PM start against the Amerks at HSBC. Losing Ennis, worrying about Gerbe, not having the toughness of McCormick and Cowan, and now having Mancari called up is really starting to wear on them, it seems.

Pirates leading 1-0 at the end of one. Outshooting Rochacha 12-8.

Amerks win by one. Glad to see Rochester get a win.

Uhm, being happy a team beat our farm boys is a little off, yea?

Portland is on a three-game skid. All the injuries and call-ups are starting to wear them down.

I thought it was cool to see Caruana who went to NU while i went there playing for the pirates. Schiestel gave that second goal away. i mean weber joined the rush got got, and schiestel followed the player and the puck went the other way. that third goal enroth wasn't quick enough. i'm sure he wanted that one back. the pirates powerplay was pretty anemic.

James, I'm also really psyched to see Matt Caruana with our farm club. I was in row one at center ice for their championship win in 2008 at home in Dwyer Arena.

I live in Rochester. I root for Portland most of the time, just not when they play the Amerks. In a perfect world, Rochester would win 10-9, and all our farmboys would get to pad their stats in a loss.

Anyone go to the Portland-Rochester game at HSBC? Was it fun to see Rory Fitzpatrick? I saw him Friday when the Amerks were in Glens Falls playing the Adirondack Phantoms.

Ahhhh, right then. Hometown loyalty >>> everything. I dig that.

Welp, JP came up clutch again by stopping all four shootout shots as the Pirates climbed back from three one-goal deficits to win 4-3 against the Monarchs.

Pirates win tonight, 3-1. This Ford kid has really been helping out the Pirates since Enroth went down.

Has anyone really stepped up for the Pirates since Gerbe and Ennis got called up?

Yea, they've been on a winning streak since, I'm 99% sure. Sounds like a team effort, honestly.

Locked up their spot the same night the Sabres did.

And they aren't on a winning streak, but they are 8-0-2 in their last ten.

Portland lost this afternoon in OT to Providence. That extends the point streak to 8-0-3 and brings them 1 point back from division leader Worcester.
