BZK has an apple and is +2. Spits are 3-0 and the game is coming to a close. Looks like Windsor lives to fight another day. It's 3-2 in the series.

As far as I can tell, BZK is Windsor's top-line RW, right?

Well, if memory serves, Lindy Ruff did coach Bob Boughner

Spits force game seven on home ice tonight with a score of 6-4. BZK was +2 with a fighting major.

Spits win game seven. BZK was +1. Will post more later - lots to say, as I'd been keeping an eye on him this series.

So, I've made an effort to watch as much of BZK's games in this round as possible, and I've gotten a lot of opinions on his play.

Jeff Marek from HNiC and Leafs Lunch told me "He's a big, tough piece of business. He's doing fine, I think he loves this" when I asked him how Kassian had responded to being in a game 7.

Kris Baker from Sabres Prospects said "Zack Kassian (+1) playing strong, responsible gm7 thus far." during the middle of today's game.

OK, so here's my take. BZK has basically been a runaway tractor-trailer in this series, playing the exact kind of game the Spits need and Sabres want. He's scored a few timely goals in important games, and used his fists to send messages when need be. This is the furthest he's ever been into the playoffs, but the atmosphere and pressure hasn't caused him to make dumb decision or take stupid penalties too often.

Let's see how he responds to playing for the Robertson Cup.

Kassian finished +1 with no other stats. He's nursing an elbow injury that seems to be weighing on him.

Crawford had an assist and was even.

Windsor won 4-3 in OT.

Kassian wasn't too noticeable either way during game one against the Colts. His elbow may be getting worse, but he didn't take any dumb penalties again. I'd expect as the series amps up, he plays through the pain and elevates his play like he did through the previous series.

Game two is tomorrow/tonight/whatever.

Well, Kassian didn't finish the night with the GWG, but his Spits did win 5-4. They go home for two games with a 2-0 lead in the series.

BZK had no points to show for the night and finished even, but he did get sent to the dressing room at 19:11 of the third period for something called "Game Misc.-Helmet" in the middle of a massive brouhaha. Kris Baker from Sabres Prospects told me he was playing hard along the board and winning battles, but wasn't generating much.

That being said, his Spits won tonight 5-2. They are now up 3-0 in games and have a chance to win the championship on home ice Tuesday at 7:05 EST.

Tonight's elimination game starts at 7:05PM EST in Windsor. A sweep on home ice for the Robertson Trophy would be the sweetest taste of victory.

Good for him but I really can't see him winning the memorial cup. Calgary will probably win most likely.
