Tool is anything but boring. But I can see where you'd come to that conclusion, given the spastic yelping that populates your tuneage ;)

I'd post a picture of Ashton Kutcher in Kelso costume yelling BURN, but I don't think any of us deserve that lol

I don't know why, but I sat here making a list of albums (objectively) better than 10,000 Days that have come out since it was released.

Topic? Gragnani? Pfff! Let's stay off topic. Anyone hear the new Arcade Fire album yet?

It's great. Sometimes it takes a while for an album to grow on me but this one sounds just as good as the others.

It's all bullshit after it gets compared to Justin Bieber.

Most of the mathcore I've heard, especially that crap from Daughters, falls strictly into the realm of shitty metal.

Tool is getting kind of stale, I will admit. Still good, but nowhere near what they used to be. 10,000 Days is definitely behind Lateralus and Undertow, and probably on par with Aenima. Let's face it, they do Tool almost as a side project now - Maynard is a successful vintner, Adam Jones is an award-winning VFX artist, and the other two are busy with their own business ventures.

Sooner or later everybody runs out of ideas, but they are so brilliant and they're also smart enough not to try and force Tool projects. About every 5 years has been the formula, but now they are long overdue. They must also realize that Tool's exposure only helps all of their other life's pursuits.

10k was right behind Lateralus on my list but much more creative and musically inspiring then their earlier work. Undertow is a great album but at the time it was too lyrically aggressive for me, I didn't want to take the time to understand where they were coming from. I became a fan after listening to their Lateralus CD. It just blew me away! I eventually went back and revisited their earlier work and I have a great appreciation for that band and their entire work of art. 10k picked up where Lateralus left off (brilliant) but you don't top a CD like that. You can't. Ryan Miller could win the Vezina next year but there's just no way he will have a better season then the one he just had.

Amen. That carnival stuff is flat out lame. I mean, he's up there grunting into the mike without anything even resembling a note and then he takes time out to tell fans to bang their heads. because apparently they dont realize they are being entertained.

I'm not even expecting a great Tool CD, in fact I'll be satisfied if it's not as good as 10k, but just give me something, ANYTHING. Fucking Sick Puppies? So much crab out there today.

And oh yeah Carey is right up there with the best drummers of all time, he could own those death metal asshats if he wanted to belittle himself that much.

I don't mean to genuinely bash anyone else's musical taste - I'm sure I listen to some stuff at least a handful of people here would say BLECH at haha

are you kidding? our queens is right on to the point where the song is actually danceable. if you want to say that about the dillinger escape plan, fair enough. but daughters? no, they pretty just have a few time changes and thats it. rest is pretty straight up.

besides, you like metallica! (GAUNTLET THROWN DOWN!) ;)
