Can we talk about Luke Adam?
Tonight's game in Montreal was the 1st time I've seen him. He got the 2nd star with 2 goals, and I don't think he even played that much. He's a center, and he has size, which are 2 things we need in terms of forwards.
So does he have any chance to make the club this year? If this is Connolly's last year, does Adam make next year's roster as a result?
Where do we see him in the grand scheme of things?

I liked that move off of the boards, very cool. He's a good player but the NHL is so epically talented that a lot of good players don't make it, or at least not right away. He could be the next Wheeler, more or less.

Give him this year in Portland and he'll make the squad in 11/12 if he kicks ass. If he doesn't, expect him on the team in 12/13. Kid is big, strong, and likes to score an ass ton of goals. Given some time, he'll translate his game to the NHL nicely.

What little I got to see of him last night on the NHL Network, I liked. I bet we see him during the season on a call up.

Definitely. Depending on where Gerbe starts, Adam will be battling for the #1 call-up spot.

Kid has tremendous potential to be used, his hands are almost perfect but he still needs to get his wheels moving a bit more, but that will come. a Year in Portland certainly won't hurt him at all.

This kid is a beast.
My hats off to the scouting dept.
I can't believe this kid didn't go in the 1st round of the draft. 44th overall? Really? WOW!

Luke is tearing up the AHL, and I agree, he needs to stay with Portland for the season.
But next season will be very interesting on the Sabres with both Kassian and Adam driving for roster spots.

We will be losing a center and right wing in Connolly and Stafford. This could be nice transition if they play to their potential.

He didn't impress me in the NHL. Ennis was more impressive his first start. But Adam was horrid in his NHL debut (Did he play 1 or 2 games?)

Didn't he have like 5 legit scoring chances in the game against Philly?

2 games, 0 points. Everyone called Ennis out for missing wide open nets... So that makes Luke Adam good??? I'm only saying things from his 2 season games. But just my opinion.

I'm not saying make him a regular now, I'm talking about how he's getting the chances and eventually those chances will become goals when he gets more accustomed to an NHL pace when he does join the Sabres permanently.

Luke Adam barely missed a few chances. He might not of scored, but it was very impressive.

 I can't believe you said that. I'm pretty sure we weren't watching the same game.

He's a 20 year old kid who's played 2 NHL games. As far as I'm concerned, he's looked every bit as good as Ennis did in his first game vs Philly last year. As I recall, Ennis' goal was a fluky one. What happens if it didn't go in? Would that make him suck?

Let him take the AHL to the woodshed for a couple more months, and then bring him back up. This kid's a stud.

"Horrid - innately offensive or repulsive:
a : inspiring horror : shocking
b : inspiring disgust or loathing : nasty
c : horrible "

Yeaaaaahhhh. I don't think horrid is the correct word there, champ. A player in their first two NHL games not getting a point isn't in the same tri-state area as horrid. Adam was in the right places at the right time and getting his chances; a player will learn to bury those if they have the ability to put themselves in that position.

Kevin Dineen has said that he sees shades of Marian Hossa in Luke Adam. I respect the hell out of Kevin Dineen. I love this comparison.
