The Pirates are back in first place in their division after a weekend sweep. Mancari and Adam are back in Portland to give them their depth back, while Maxime Legault has been kicking ass (5pts in 6gp) got him signed from his PTO to an AHL deal.

Haven't done this in a while.

Pirates are winning 7-3 right now and will move within four points of division leading Manchester with four games in hand.

Paul Byron just earned himself a Gordie Howe hat trick BTW

Pirates win 6-1 over Springfield. Adam and Grags each had two assists. Pirates have AHL-best home record of 21-4-5.

Pirates are only 2 points out of the division lead with 4 games in hand (damn!).

Has anyone noticed Mark Voakes, on loan from Greenville Road Warriors (ECHL), play recently?

Tonight was his first game as a Pirate. Dude had 1+1 and reportedly looked good.

Thanks. I know Voakes is not a Sabres player.

I will likely entertain the thought later of the need for a Sabres ECHL affiliate in the future. They had one a decade ago in the South Carolina Stingrays, now with the Washington Capitals.

Pirates won tonight in the shootout in a come-from-behind effort with a depleted roster vs a powerhouse with a great road record.

Pegula took in tonight's game, watching the Pirates win 5-3. The win put them back in the division lead and Luke Adam's 2 goals put him back in the rookie scoring and rookie goals lead.

Pirates taking on B-Sens tonight. A win puts them 1 point back with 4 games in hand on Manchester.

Pirates win. Luke Adam's point streak is at 8 games and has 60 points, good for a 4 point cushion on the rookie lead.

Now only 1 point back of the division lead with 5 (!!!) games in hand.

The Pirates play Hershey tonight at 7. A win or OTL coupled with a Manchester regulation loss moves the Pirates back into first place in the division and second in the league overall with five games in hand.

Some quick facts about the Pirates...
- highest-scoring offense in the league
- fourth-least penalty minutes
- goal differential of +47, good for second in the league
- record of 8-2-0 in the last ten, hottest team in the AHL
- .773, points percentage at home, far and away the best in the AHL
- 89 points, third best in AHL

What a beast season they're having.

and without jhonas, eh?

Not only at times without Jhonas, but also with scrub goaltenders taking starts (and winning) so Leggio can get some rest.

Pirates back in division lead after tonight's 3 goal comeback OT win. Both PDX and MCH play today...win by PDX and reg loss by MCH gives Pirates a two points cushion.
