Portland, ME – It must be something in the water at the Cumberland County Civic Center, but the Portland Pirates remained undefeated on home ice with a 6-3 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack on Saturday night.

That is the Tyler Ennis we want to see. A guy who can score a bunch of goals.

Same here. Ennis is a natural goal scorer and should rival Vanek for the goal lead on this team in the future.

Hell yea for Tyler Small. I have great hopes for him - he just shows a greater natural talent AND work ethic than Gerbe does. Plus, being a WHL graduate appeals to me more than Gerbe being an NCAA hockey graduate.

I think this is fantastic news. Hope Enroth picks his game up, too...the Sabres are in dire need of a quality backup to Miller.

"Andres Ambuhl added a late period goal as the Wolf Pack pulled to within their closest margin of the night, at three goals, with 1:57 left to play."

-Really; was it 4 - 0 before the game even started??

Good to see Ennis finding his way. He has kind of fallen out of the picture, as a really relevant prospect; so if he shows he can play, kudos for him!

6 points in 8 games i'd say he definitely has a high offensive potential. three of which are powerplay goals.

He scored again last night. The kid is on fire...too bad Enroth can't get anything going.

Absolutely.

But Gerbe has a fire that Ennis can't match.

Definitely in that aspect. But he won't get in peoples' faces like Gerbe will.

That's because I don't think Ennis is dumb enough to pull himself out of the play like Gerbe does.

Actually, Gerbe draws a lot of penalties.

I'm sure he does. I wouldn't doubt he draws a ton of penalties by chirping away. The problem is, that's not his role. His role is to zip around and score a fuck-ton of goals. But my issue with Gerbe is, how many rushes or chances does Gerbe abandon to get snarky and draw a penalty that's not related to how fast he is? I wish there was a way to measure that.

Well, that's a matter of opinion.

Personally, I like having a player like that on my team. It can sting sometimes, but it also adds a ton of great emotion and passion to a game.

And when the game is on the line, that's the type of player you can count on to find a way to get the job done.
