IMO, Adam didn't do absolutely terrible in the 19 NHL Games he played this year. You can't expect every rookie to score and set up plays just like that. It just doesn't work like that. Give him some time, and I'm sure he'll do fine.

If we did just the analysis of 19 games though, Gerbe would have played himself out of the NHL.

Instead, they give young players time to develop. Look how much time we gave players like Mancari. It's a chance game. Sometimes it pans out, sometimes it doesn't.

You can just see by the way some players play. Gerbe showed some moves, decent skating, decent puck handling. Adam, though I'm not penciling him out, doesn't show much of that.

Not all players can dangle, or skate as fast as Gerbe, but they can still be very helpful to any team. See Joe Thornton.

Joe Thornton can actually skate. Luke Adam looks like he can't move well on skates. If you're going to be in the NHL, you got to be able to possess a certain amount of talent and skating ability.

Joe Thornton is actually pretty slow compared to his team mates.

Mats Sundin comes to mind. Not the fastest guy ever, and not Datysuk like deking, but a whole hell of a lot of hockey sense.

Luke Adam can't skate at an NHL level, and he can't pass or shoot like Thornton.

At least from what I've seen from his play in the NHL and AHL.

Yeah, that might be true as of now, but you never know, 19 NHL games doesn't show shit.

There are much worse skaters in the NHL though that have made careers on doing the "other" things correctly.

Both of us can hope that Adam does pan out. We won't know for awhile though. I'd rather see Kassian on the roster this year.

I saw somewhere that we invited several kids back to Buffalo for further testing. Can't remember everyone but nathan Beaulieu, Jonas Brodin, Mark McNeil and I can't remember who else. Zach Phillips maybe.

Not yet though, just give him time

At 16 (provided one of the top guys doesn't somehow fall into our lap)

-McNeill
-Scheifele
-Puempel
-Khokhlachev

If it's anybody else (especially another fucking defenseman), I'll be mega-pissed...

I don't really want kochlachev. Haven't seen him play but i'd rather stay away from Russians, even if they cam over early. I too don't want a d-man but if Oleksiak is there and the forwards we want are gone, take him.

... Something wrong with Russians??? If he's a good hockey player he's a good hockey player. Doesn't matter if he's Swedish, American, Canadian, Australian, Mexican, Etheopian...
