Luke Adam, in the NHL, can't score. Ennis can. Luke Adam is just too slow and by what I watched him by has very little skill.

He has been given almost no shot to play as of yet.

He's a system type player and I think he'll eventually do very well for our team.

From the way he played in those 19 games, he has a hard work ethic, but he's slow and can't play at a bigger level. Ennis has the talent to play at this level.

Playing at the NHL level is something that can be adjusted to. His speed, unfortunately, really can't.

I'm just saying let's give the guy more than 19 games before we throw him out. I'm hoping that our scouting department knew he was "slow" but had other elements to the game which could help our team.

Let's hope.

My guess is they did see his (lack of) speed but noticed something raw about him that needed molding. I was hoping he (and Kassian, and Foligno, and McNabb) would get more time with Dineen, but that's not happening now.

As it stands re: the draft, I should probably really study the projections from draft gurus to see what's out there. I have done next to no studying on draft prospects this year.

Meh, Luke Adam might be able to raise his NHL awareness. I guess I'm just spoiled with Grags playing amazing his time up, Weber and Ennis and Gerbe doing that too.

Grags also played 3 years in the A first. Same with Webs(maybe only 2). Gerbe played 2 full seasons and took half a season in the NHL before we saw what he can do. Ennis is Ennis and Adam shouldn't be compared to him. Give him time and he will develop into a Jochen Hecht type player(but hopefully with a little more jam and offensive upside).

I'm guessing you don't remember how meh at best Grags was during his first call-ups.

Also, what sabresEH said.

We also, for some reason, tried to make Grags a forward when he was up here.

I don't think that's very fair to say for Adam, he's only played 19 games, and that's not enough for ANYONE to show what they've got. Especially, a rookie.

That's also a very good point.

So after posting about not study much, I spent the night among other things looking at prospects, and I've settled on either Khokhlachev (my personal pick) or Mark Schiefele (Kris Baker's pick). Both seem like first round wins.

As far as Khokhlachev goes, we have enough wingers. Schiefele would be a good pick, but I'd rather have Zack Phillips or Mark McNeill. My ideal pick would be McNeill.

Koko is a center. Lefty center, to be precise.

Many of the places I'm reading up on these guys, they list him as a winger, but you're right. And also, most have him in the late 1st, early 2nd range so it would be a reach (by the mock draft standards). His size is also a put off for me. We have enough guys in the 5'9" - 5'10" range.

If we end up with McNeill, Scheifele or Phillips, I'll be a very happy camper. Although, I also wouldn't mind Jamie Oleksiak. I don't ever think you can have enough defensive prospects.

Yeah, in my blog post, I noted that IMO he's a brilliant pick if the Sabres trade down but I'd still be happy with them picking him at 16. But yeah, the more I think about Scheifele I like the idea of it.

My point exactly...Funny he's given up on a 20 year old AHL rookie with 19 NHL games under his belt. Seems to me it too Stafford about 5 years to reach his potential yet everyone loved us resigning to dude. Seriously. Come back when Adam is 22/23 and Ill hear this argument but its just bogus at this point

I'm not basing it off of 19 games I'm basing it off his play. The way he plays. In all of his games.
