I don't see it. Grigs is doing fine. He was very very good in the Columbus game.

Obviously last night's game wasn't on TV so who knows.

He's much more comfortable this year than last year. But it's too bad for you seeing how he's playing in Buffalo regardless of what you or anyone thinks.

I'm still not sure about Grigo. The talent's there, yes, but the hard work isn't. He's trying to get by on talent alone, and it shows in the way his skating hasn't improved at all.

Again. Great talent, and you can see that, but that doesn't always translate in the NHL if the player isn't working hard, as well.

i heard from press that scouts think his skating improved and grigo stayed in buffalo this off season to work on his skating.

Who's scouts are saying that, though? Of course the Sabres' scouts want us to believe that. I don't know.

There was an article about him staying in Buffalo to train with the other Sabres that stay in Buffalo to train. It was the same with Myers staying in Buffalo to train and other rookies too.

And it's a wide known fact other scouts have said our prospect pool is probably the best and deepest in the league right now. And almost every NHL analyst says it also. If not top, we have top 5 in the prospect department.

I guess that's not what I'm trying to get at. While I know these people rank us that high, I feel like a majority of these websites simply go by draft position and stats from the year before, not actually watching players.

Watching Grigorenko, I haven't noticed much of a difference. But I've only seen him play one game against the Blue Jackets that was on TV. He didn't look all that different to me. His goal was nice.

Well, we also don't get to see him at practice either. But he was the only Sabre that played in all 7 preseason games. I personally think our third line with him,and Girgs is gonna be a sleeper line. And seeing how Foligno is out, he may get a chance opening night to Center the second line with Ennis and Leino on wings, or Stafford/Leino, or something depending on how the lines are gonna look.

Probably not. Lines at practice:

Vanek-Hodgson-Stafford
Ott-Ennis-Leino
Girgensons-Grigorenko-Flynn
Kaleta-McCormick-Porter
Reserves: Scott, Larsson

Ehrhoff-Pysyk
Tallinder-Myers
Ristolainen-Weber
McBain

Miller, Enroth

Practice lines aren't always gameday lines.

It's a possibility, didn't say it was his spot.

regarding grigs. i knew the sabres burned a year of his contract last year. what i didnt know is the contract cant stop. i thought if they sent him back to juniors, it paused for the year, and next year he would still have 2 years.

so now this REALLY looks bad on the sabres because they are stuck.

GREAT JOB!

I don't have a problem with them paying him. I have a problem with how they are handling him.

He should have never seen NHL time last year, and probably seen the entire preseason and 9 games this year, then gotten sent back. I really wish he could go to the AHL as that is the best place for him right now.

Agreed, Sky. My issue is that they keep Grigs up, then play him for 4 minutes a game on the 4th line. That's bullshit. If we're gonna keep him in the NHL, let him play NHL minutes with NHL linemates. and see what he can do. Considering how much we suck as a team this year, there's nothing to lose giving him a real chance.

Yep, this.

Seeing him on a line with Scott...or being scratched over Scott is maddening to me.

The Grigorenko situation was just handled beyond poorly IMO. It's the biggest head-scratcher I've seen in Buffalo sports since the Bills benched Doug Flutie.

That makes two of us. More like ALL of us, actually.

This team is a trainwreck from top to bottom right now. They couldn't handle their prospects any worse.
