YEAAAAHHH BOOOOYYYYYEEE

I used to hate this genre blindly. Over the past year or so, I've stopped being retarded so I'mma post some of the stuff I've been listening to lately.

I've always been partial to older-school rap and hip-hop, but my brother likes to clue me in on new underground stuff and more often than not I really dig it.

(Yes, that is Slayer's "Angel of Death" providing the sample)

(I first heard MSI's cover of this and when I found out it was originally by Wu-Tang, I checked it out.)

GZA is a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Check him out, if you haven't already.

I've listened to GZA, RZA, Method Man and Redman on and off in little bits and pieces. I've liked everything I've heard, but I just never look for more.

I don't like Rap per say, but hip hop isn't bad but you always hear the same songs played over and over again.

Basically the club music and rave music isn't bad to me, but Rap, I'm not going to listen to it sober or with my choice.

I'll listen to it if it's playing and won't complain, some of it is actually good. I just don't go out of my way to listen to such things.

I have a habit of booing things I don't agree with. Nothing personal.

I tend to not listen to rap, but it does not bother me unless they happen to be talking about moronic shit.

I respect the Roots a helluva lot because they're a band in the traditional sense, and not just a "rap group".

And ?uestlove has the most epic fro ever.

It also helps that they're great lyricists, have music and beats that mesh flawlessly with said lyrics as well as having perfect delivery. These guys are just great in every way I can think of.

So I'm bumping this thread

BE A WITNESS, AS I EXERCISE MY EXORCISM:

Everyone associated with the Wu-Tang Clan is awesome:

MF Doom has maaaad flow:

J Dilla made some amazing beats. When I hear this track and think of him sitting there on his deathbed, putting the finishing touches on this album, I start getting teary eyed:

I already posted a Roots track, but this is the band at their finest. Black Thought delivers an amazing performance on this and the lyrical content is outstanding. "Voted unlikely to succeed because my class was full/ Of naysayers, cheaters and thieves/ All it gave me was a good enough reason to leave/ And put the writing on the wall for ya'll to read it and weep/ 'Cause I'm the force of the Lord, the rage of Hell/ You'd rather head for the hills and save yourselves" :

I totally stopped listening to Rap for a few months and was only listening to classic rock, and some new stuff like Rise Against, Muse, a little breaking benjamin, Metallica, Megadeth and a few others. But when i heard drake for the first time maybe two months ago i was like WOW. He has totally sparked my interest in rap again. I have about 40+ songs from his mixtape and bought his new album thank me later. Love em both. I also bought b.o.b's album. Love it.

Not the best song on his album but still good. Only one i could find on Youtube with good sound quality.

Have to listen to this one all the way through:

Don't much care for Kid Cudi, but love this song.
