I know alot of you guys in here have very extensive knowledge. I've always thought combining a band with a symphonic orchestra is a sick idea and out of this world cool when done properly but I am having a hard time finding many bands who have done this. Any help? |

Metallica and the San Francisco symphony orchestra record S&M together, the Tea Party recorded a song with a small orchestra called "Psychopomp", the black metal bands Behemoth and Cradle of Filth often record albums with an orchestra (CoF loves the Budapest symphony orchestra) but I think that's only on select songs, and my brother wrote an arrangement for his high school band for Bohemian Rhapsody (he played guitar) for rock band/orchestral accompaniment. |

TSO (Trans Siberian Orchestra) does it. Metallica did it with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Probably stuff you've already heard, but they're all I can think of off the top of my mind. |

Not exactly what you were asking, but Serj Tankian recently did a performance of his album "Elect the Dead" with a symphony: |

I've been thinking about it, but I can't come up with anything else right now. When I do, though, I'm gonna toss em in here. |

Serj is one of the most talented vocalists to come out of music in the past ten or so years. |

Rock You Like a Hurricane 2000 was with an orchestra. Yngwie Malmsteen played with the Japanese Philharmonic. November Rain had an orchestra for the music video I think, or it at least had a string section. |
