Not yet known why Vanek is being held out. Goose is playing on a regular line though, so his shoulder must be in good shape.

I don't remember him being injured during the NYR game

Maybe they sent Vanek on a hunt to find his penis, since he's played like a little girl all season?

UPDATE: Vanek was given a maintenance day. Strange when you consider they had a day off yesterday, and when asked whether or not Thomas would play tomorrow, Ruff responded, "I hope so."

Gaustad skated with a regular line today, but he will not play tomorrow. Still not quite ready.

Cant believe i'm saying this about TV..but, who cares? Dude has not exactly been the biggest impact player recently, i'd rather have an AHL'er in there who's going to give it his fucking ALL at this point.
Hell, Mair and Kaleta popped in our goals last time, maybe we need to supplement some of this underperforming 'talent' for some good old fashioned ass-kickin HUSTLE.

I'd agree with you Yankee, but it seems like every time Vanek gets time out of the lineup, he gets worse.

The last thing we need is an even worse Thomas Vanek.

I could be wrong, but I thought Vanek was all over the place during the Rangers game. He could definately put more body into his game (and it'd probably help considerably), but for a typically slow player he was actually trying to work it to the net and had a little more drive than usual.

He's pretty low on my list of players who should be taken out of the lineup, based on last game at least.

WTF kind of a response is that???
It sounds like there's some uncertainty there.

To me thats a subtle shot at how Vanek's been playing.

Vanek would have gotten our first goal if Mair hadn't hit it just before Vanek's stick got to it.

I mean really, both Vanek and Mair's sticks were right there, Mair's just got there first.

Being Ruff, I'd think that's the case.

Good spot guys. I honestly wasn't sure what he was getting at. Wasn't taking it in the right context.

    Lol.

I knew it was a day off. Vanek has been playing awesome, its probably a reward or a rest.

Thomas Vanek was back on the ice after resting an undisclosed injury for two days. Both Vanek and Lindy Ruff say the injury has NOT affected his play in any way. He will be in the lineup tonight against Dallas. It appears Chris Butler will again be the healthy scratch, but nothing's confirmed. Vanek thought he had scored in Madison Square Garden when he and Adam Mair swung at the puck. Mair got credit for the goal which was reviewed and confirmed by the league. Vanek has one goal in four games in two in his last 10.

You could cut off his legs and it wouldn't affect his play...
