I'm assuming there's an open practice on Saturday for the opener? Anyone know for sure? I called the arena and they said "probably."

Anyone going then?

There is definitely an open practice. Myself, Melly, AudSabres and his girlfriend will all be there, at least!

I'll be there...I went to a lot of the training camp sessions, the arena employees are starting to recognize me.

We're gettin on the road early Sat morning for this reason, so it best be an open practice! If I get any autographs or not, this is going to be awesome!

How early would this be? How long is the drive?

Ah, about 1.5 hr drive from Mississauga Mell. We're just gettin on the road early (around 7'ish) to allow for customs and to take our time type thing.. lol With my luck today, I'm assuming they'll have some questions for me haha.

You don't have to tell me twice. I think I singlehandedly moved Home Depot's stock this week. :p

I'm hoping for autographs - is the back parking lot still the place to go? They used to let you go to the sides of the tunnel entrance, but stopped that in 06-07 so everyone went to the back parking lot.

I'm assuming being a weekend opener there will be a fair amount of people at this practice. Might go back on a weekday for autographs.

Yea, the back lot is the best place to go. I plan on getting a pic with Myers, Loods' autograph on my jersey (if he's practicing), and a pic of the Goose with Melly.

Awesome...I think I'll stop and grab a pack of cards tomorrow, most recent ones I have are early 06-07 so the pictures were still from 05-06 and they're all wearing the old jerseys. Might see if I can get a few 8x10's of some players too.

Hopefully see you kids there, depending on what Friday night holds. I'll be in Buffalo all weekend though, so I really hope to make it down for the practice. I've never gone to one before!

They're fun...if you can, try to go to one during the week. A lot of people go to the ones on the weekend, so it can be pretty loud and distracting sometimes. But it's cool during the week because not many people are there and you can hear the players and coaches communicating to each other.

A few seasons ago it was probably 8-10 people during the week. They let you sit in the section around the tunnel and talk to the guys when they walked off the ice.

Last time I was there they didn't let you sit there, but that was 06-07 and it was packed. I take it they still don't let you do that?

No, they don't.
