With Myers staying with the big club, what would the defensive pairings look like opening night?
(Which I am praying to the hockey gods he stays up here full time)

Also, with 19 forwards left, what would the possible 4 lines look like?
Anyone have any favorites of the rookies to stay with the big club?
I'm pulling for Kennedy and Gerbe, especially with Mair's absence.

So, who are the kids "on the bubble"?

Enroth, Cowen, McCormick, Gerbe and Weber come to mind. Who am I missing? (Besides DiPenta, as well.)

Enroth isn't "on the bubble".

He is firmly slotted as the #3 goalie and will be headed to Portland soon.

I sense the Sabres roster is going to look like this on opening night:

1) Vanek-Connolly-Pominville
2) Hecht-Roy-Stafford
3) MacArthur-Gaustad-Grier
4) Paille-Kennedy-Kaleta

1) Rivet-Butler
2) Lydman-Myers
3) Sekera-Montador
Sit: Tallinder
Sit: Paetsch
IR: Mair

1) Miller
2) Lalime

...technically, Myers is in a category on his own - Up to 9 games in Buffalo, then it's either NHL or bust (back to the Rockets, for another season.)

If he stays for the tenth game, his qualifying offer kicks-in and he's on the roster for good (or at least until next September, when he meets age-qualifications for the AHL.)

I reckon if Darcy's gonna have to pay him (after the 10th game) he'll keep him on the team - As long as he doesn't screw the pooch in a major way. No point in sitting him.

And there's really no point sending him down to Kelowna either, where he'll just play with himself for a season. He needs to play among men, to develop further.

If he stays on the roster this year he won't go to the AHL next year, he'd be far to developed by then to waste some time there.

He'll be one of the few draftees of Buffalo that would not go to the AHL before being in the NHL.

He is far too talented to get sent anywhere, let him learn and he'll learn quickly playing in the NHL. If he is as calm and collected as I've been hearing in these preseason games then I can't wait to see him play in the NHL, hopefully tonight I get to see if I can spot him playing.

i don't think they'd keep tallinder as a reserve defenseman, if they can't trade him i'd think they'd take a risk and either try sending him to portland, or cut him for the cap space or risk sending paetsch.

Maybe they can pay Hank and Jochen a small percentage of their salaries to defect to the KHL.

There would be dancing in the streets if either one of those pixies were cut or traded.

Maybe they just want to see what he can do since he's been with the team for awhile, maybe they are trying to give him his chance.

Well at least Weber is still vying for a spot after his gaff in the Washington game

2 years ago Weber looked awesome, and even though last year he wasn't as strong he did well, but inkury last year screwed him over.

This is just so rife with possibilities for masturbation humor and/or homosexual references that I couldn't just let it fly by unnoticed.

Here it goes. If he isn't learning anything by playing with himself, and he needs to play among men to develop further, why doesn't he try a circle jerk? :o
