Roy shouldn't have a letter.

it doesnt matter who has a letter on their jersey. slapping a c on someones shoulder doesnt transform them into a leader. who cares if its rotating, the leaders are there regardless of the letter on their sweater. on most teams, the goalie is a leader anyways.

Rotating the captaincy just shows that there is no one on the team worthy of being a leader.

Should be

C-Rivet
A-Gaustad
A-Grier

Hecht should not be anywhere near a letter. This team's "letters" have been a joke. Rotating? Hecht once wore the C? I mean come on.

He really is the heart, with guys like Goose, Grier, and Rivet being the ethic. Kaleta is the bruised up right hook.

No more of that Socialist, Nancy-boy shit. Pick a captain, and stand by him. That's that.

Were you not a fan of the Co-Captaincy of Briere and Drury?

Did that system win us the Cup? With all the talent we had?

'Nuff sed.

Shared responsibility means no accountability. If something is too many people's job - It ends up not getting done, because it's no one's job.

I agree with this statement. Didn't win us a cup and we were the bets team those two years.

Dual captaincy is horseshit.

Wrong, on one account. 05/06 we were CLEARLY the best team in the league once the final four came about. In 06/07, the Ducks were built and ready to beat the living shit out of anything that came their way. If the Sabres beat the Sens, I predict the Ducks would have swept them. That team was scary fucking gnar.

Yeah, I remember the Sens pounding the snot out of our little pixies that year, and then watching in utter disbelief as the Ducks pummeled the shit out of the Sens in the finals, and was thankful it wasn't us out there getting killed. They were some badass motherfuckers.

Agreed. The preseason opener against the Caps they had the C on him, with A's on Pominville and Vanek and nada on Hecht.

I'm sure Rivet will keep his captaincy this year, but it'll be interesting to see which sweaters the A's find themselves on.

Letters this year are going to be

C- Rivet
A- Gaustad
A- Pomminville or Vanek

Rivet, because he's a true captain

Gaustad, because he's on all our special teams units, and is good at communicating with refs

Pomminville or Vanek, because they are first line players, and you need a letter on your first line, you just do.

I'm hoping that it's Rivet with the C and Gaustad and Grier with the As.

Ok, in 05-06 we were the best, but in 06-07 we were the best record team, and our team should have breezed through to the finals also, but with co-captains we didn't, because with that there is no responsibility.

I liked the fact that both Grier and Montador went after Canadian players who took liberties with our players. That seems to indicate a good set of team values. I know that any team, be it hockey or soccer, that I played on, and was agressive in nature always made me feel more agressive and feel obligated to be physical...

I think it's just more fun to play aggressive. You start feeling a little pain and the adrenaline starts pumping and you wanna make the other guys feel the pain too.
