Anyone else check this thing out?

Since I'm usually busy as hell at work (except for when I can stream a Sabres game or two) I figured I'd just print it off and check it out when I got home tonight. Well, it's a good thing no one attempted to mug me on the way home, I could have beat the person to death with my media guide! Lord jesus, I had books in collage that weren't this frickin thick!!! It's in black and white, but hey, I printed it for free on company paper and ink :P

I do like the indepth sections on draft history and the section on the Pirates though. Very cool. What I don't like, is the 2008-09 "Season in Review" Looking at this section, and how much info there was to report on a team that didn't make the post season for the 2nd straight year makes my guts hurt. Nice stats against the Leafs and Oilers though last year :P

I love the absolute prevalence of the vintage logo, and also the City of Hockey logo, as used in your avatar. There are a bunch of hats at the arena store featuring this City of Hockey logo - it seems to be slowly building to a rallying cry for this franchise.

This, I am a big fan of!

Although, I've never really been one to bash the team over the logo, it's no shocker that the team has always been linked to that charging Bison and the crossed Sabres. Out of the 3, of course the Retro is my fav, followed by the "Buffa-Goat" and the sluggy.

I like the positioning of the retro logo though, EVERYWHERE lol.

Have they updated the scoreboard yet, does anyone know? Or does it still have the current slug there?

Also, these hats you speak of in the Sabres Store are in abundance, Phil?

I'll have to make sure my credit Card is paid in full and ready for some purchases :P

The Jumbotron still has the giant plastic Slugs hanging there, but that'll change next offseason. T-minus one season and counting!

There's a black and white toque, oh my god, so badass. It's got the City of Hockey logo on it, like in your avatar. I contemplated buying it, but got the new hat I have instead - gotta represent New Era.

I'm all about the touques!

Ah well, the Slugs had a short run and seen some winning teams (Ok, maybe not so much...) but it'll be nice to see ONE logo that people can relate to the team! Instead of 3 (Retro, slug and B with the Sabre thru it)

I could never say this on the old board, but:

Fuck that ass wipe slug logo, and anally rape the asshole who ever approved such an atrocity.

I was one of the first to say it blew, and have held steadfast in that belief.

A fekking embarassment to say the least. :x

Let's please move on......

I may have to make a buddy take a drive downtown to get me one of those. That logo is great. Hey AudSabres, where did you find that avi? I'd love to have that for my desktop background.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

I hawked it from our game night logo on the main site actually s-in-dc, tossed it into paint and tweaked it a bit. It's really only big enough to be an avi tho. I tried to set it as my wallpaper and it was such a blur and distorted my eyes hurt, lol. If I can find a bigger one on the web I'll post it!

See, now we get the originals back as firsts - Then this would make a sweet third, or a great 40th Anniversary shoulder-patch:

I'd love to see that as a patch. I love how the team is building the brand and the identity of the new old logo in preparation for the frenzy that will be the 40th.

You might be able to stretch it better in Photoshop.

Or you can stretch it and fix it better in PS than Paint.
