At first, I thought this was a joke. But apparently, they're really upset with the hit.

At this point, all I can do is laugh. How about Chara's hit from behind on Kaleta? He could have fucking killed him. If any hit from that game deserves a suspension, it's that one.

Quote:
Tyler Myers is used to media attention. Folks always want to talk about his fine rookie season. Today, the reporters surrounded him to talk about a questionable hit.

"Till just now I didn’t realize it was an issue at all,'' Myers said after practice.

The Bruins aren't happy with Myers' hit on Johnny Boychuk, though Myers said it was just a hockey play.

"I was just playing the play hard," he said. "I saw the scrum, and I thought he was digging for the puck. I just went to finish my check. I think it’s pretty safe to say my style is not to go in trying to hurt guys. I was just looking to finish my check."

Sabres coach Lindy Ruff declined to jump into the fray.

"I don’t even want to comment on speculation by other players," Ruff said. "The league will deal with anything. It was an intense game."

Myers said he had not heard from the NHL.

Wow. Are you kidding me. Probably calling for the blindside. Except that the hit wasn't to the head. Clean hit atta boy Big Easy.

Do they realize that Zdeno Chara is on their team?

They're whining about everything over at HF Boards. Pretty much think that the only reason the Sabres won was because of the officiating. Nevermind the fact that the Sabres never scored on their man advantages.

They're cocky...when they found out they would be playing the Sabres they thought it was going to be a piece of cake. I kept reading comments like, "I can't see the Sabres giving the Bruins much of a problem".

Yep, I was reading their series prediction thread over at HF boards and the consensus was Bruins in 6

That was a cheapshot.

I've never seen such a disgusting display of hockey of that Myers just portrayed right there.

I mean, the Bruin almost died.

It would be interesting to do a little study on the confidence of fans based on playoff series predictions correlated with how homer-ish their commentators are based on the various polls on the subject that pop up in the NHL Talk section of HF with some regularity. It's typically almost unanimous that NESN is the worst for that.

C'mon guys, are you really saying that the Bruins are sissy, pansy babies for crying about a arguably clean hit to a pretty non-impact player, after their lovable oaf almost broke Kaleta's collar bone? We all know Chara doesn't know better. When you're that ugly and have that much giantism, you have to imagine his brain is the size of a peanut. That's just the way it goes sometimes. We're lucky he didn't bash Kaleta's head in with a chunk of the ice and start humping his corpse... though I guess it was only Game 1.

I'm sure almost everyone already saw this on HF, but oh well. It's freaking hilarious, from the Boston Herald.

How can anyne who follows hockey say that Myers' hit was a hit to the head.
