Well watching the little scrum on http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/consol ... -vidmod-hp made me really appreciate what Torres did out there. He went after everyone basically. He stood up for his team mates and had a "No Bullshit" attitude with Boston.

It's great to see this team is getting guys back who stick up for one another.

That gives us many more guys then in 06-07 with Rivet, Torres, Montador, Kaleta, Goose, Mair, Grier and even Myers and sometimes Lydman all sticking up for their team mates and goalie again.

It's a wonderful site, but Torres was a good site to see when he went after Chara also.

Can't wait to watch game 2 and see Torres and those guys actually sticking up for their team mates.

He put Chara in a head-lock. It was funny.

It's a good way to win over Buffalo fans, for sure. Keep up the physicality, Raffi, and you're alright in my book.

I remember saying he would be useful for us in the playoffs 8-) . Glad he didn't make me look like an idiot. Keep this up Sabres, I loved how physical you were!

A lot of us felt that way, too - he's definitely a playoff performer. Someone said somewhere that, whereas Darcy acquired Moore to try and help us into the playoffs, he acquired Torres knowing we were gonna be making it and wanted help in the second season.

Even if Torres doesn't score anything in the playoffs, his presence of being a guy who won't take shit form other players will give more room for our guys who will score.

Yea, he's going to be key if we wanna make a deep run. He puts forth a lot of effort.

I'm thinking Ennis and Torres might need to swap lines to make both work again.

Torres-Connolly-Pominville
Kennedy-Roy-Vanek
Ennis-Goose-Grier
Ellis-Mair-Kaleta

Yeah Phil, that's what I was going to say (again). I'm all for Torres getting physical and defending teammates, but really, Cody McCormick could've been called up to do that. Torres needs to be more than a 3rd/4th liner to be worth that trade and live up to his supposed value as a playoff performer.

The Connolly line is missing a physical player that can work the boards on the forecheck and retaining puck possession. That was Hecht's role, and Torres is almost the same player. With Ennis, that line could not create chances unless they gained the zone skating in, and I don't expect them to produce anything off the forecheck this series. That's where Torres would fit in and hopefully make the impact that the front office was hoping for. That is, unless his wrist is still f-ed up or he just can't skate with them.

I agree also Phil, just mix up Kennedy and Ennis during the game and just keep switching them from 2nd and 3rd lines.

Yea, what 1980 said. That line controlled play all night and was dangerous every shift. Hell that line scored both goals...well, that line + El Capitano.

I loved that, too. In fact, our entire team was really physical! Even the scorers. It was awesome.

Torres is willing to skate through a wall to get to the puck. Even if it has a big ugly 33 on it. I'd be shocked if he didn't get his contribution on the statsheet sooner or later.

I disagree. Keep the lines as they are. The Connolly-Ennis-Pominville line had some brilliant opportunities that they just couldn't finish on. I bet they light the lamp a couple times tonight.
