"NOTES: Tim Kennedy has officially changed his jersey number from No. 58 to No. 13."

From the bottom of the Sabres.com article pretaining to opening night.

He's finally got his real number, and not a linebacker number anymore. I'm considering ordering a Kennedy 3rd jersey now, with #13. Maybe I'll wait and see how he plays with the big club for awhile....

Nice catch ;)

13 worn by: Yuri Khmylev (1992-96), Jim Schoenfeld (1984-85), Jiri Novotny (2005-07) Slava Kozlov (2001-02)

back when i was a kid, i bought a satan jersey, cause he was my favourite, and started wearing 81 because of him. now, i see things much more clearly, but i still wear 81.

True; because by the time Schony rejoined The Sabres, Phil Housley was wearing number 6.

let me ask, whats everyones problem with buying jerseys of a player who departed? they say it like there is some rule against wearing the jersey of a player who leaves. i say fuck it, get a steve bernier jersey. he played on the team, and not many people have the jersey. fuck it, get a steve heinze 57 jersey. whats the big deal?

If you wear the number of a departed player, you just aren't cool.

Seriously, I would put my own number on a jersey; that way if they are moved, so what.

Either that, or use velcro. Player leaves, have a new number and name plate made, and put it on.

one of the huge taboos of jerseys, in my eyes, are personalized jerseys. getting your last name on a jersey just is so bougus. id LOVE to rock like a steve heinze jersey.
