Not really. There wasn't anyone near him that could reach the clock.

They just ping ponged him and rattled the clock tower.

Yeah the second hit that came from underneath him just took the wind out of him. It wasn't a head rattler.

I'd be amazed if anyone could deliver a head shot to Myers, as I think his head is pretty much impossible to reach.

Almost 20 minutes of ice time, including 7:30 of special teams, and a dazzling, head's up play to feed Mac the puck for the first goal...this kid looks even better in person than he does on TV. He started only one rush on opening night, but had the moxy to start four last night. And he did damn well with it, too - the only Sabre who can consistently skate the puck out of the zone.

He's also, and slightly hilariously, impossible to take off the puck. Someone on the 'Yotes last night tried to go low on him and take him out, but he - I shit you not - rolled over the 'Yotes' back and regained possession. Fucking ridiculous.

But, Robi is right. He's gonna make mistakes - he had a bad pass picked off in our zone, but didn't make that mistake again the rest of the night. He learns from his mistakes in game and doesn't make it again later the same night.

Kid's going to be a fucking superstar.

Two games in, if he doesn't win the Calder, I'mma shoot somebody.

It is VERY difficult not to let oneself get carried away with this kid, mainly because it is not as though he's a forward scoring two goals a night; that kind of production tapers off. What he's doing typically does not, and he has been improving by miles ever since we drafted him.

He won't win the Calder, Evander Kane and Tavares will overshawdow him.

Well unless when we play the Isles and Atlanta he dominates them.

Saturday night, expect to see the re-birth of the best match-up from the last Chynoweth Cup playoffs - Kane vs Myers.

I bet Kane is starting to say OH SHIT already.

If I recall, didn't Myers completely shut down Kane during that time, and weren't they trying to double shift Kane to not be against Myers, but Myers was playing 30 minutes a night anways.

Nah, they love to play each other. Such competitive respect for each other. Kane even credits how much Myers thwarted him during the playoffs for making him a better player.

Kane is a smaller guy, and against the best defender in the league.

Lets hope he does the same to him Saturday as he did in the playoffs, because we Know Ruff will want to play Myers against him at some time during the game.
