Now I did say that I would hold off on forming a definite opinion on Myers and Kennedy until after the nine games Myers has. However I've been saying how Kennedy probably would/should be the one to get bumped because he hasn't been strong on the puck.

He wasn't necessarily "strong" on the puck tonight, but he sure has hell competed hard for every one. He worked tenaciously around the net and it finally paid off on the goal. A real great effort that will make it hard for Ruff and Regier to decide who to bump (it won't be Myers either).

If, and I mean if, Myers keeps his game going and Kennedy shows more of the same from tonight, Paille might want to get a suitcase packed. Before anyone says it, Ellis IS NOT going anywhere. His work ethic and attitude are exactly what Ruff has been preaching...no way he goes.

Kennedy showed great puck-smarts and tenacity.

I'm liking his chances. More aggressive than many others out there...

I love both of them. They don't look like rookies.

I like Paille. Wish he would get on the ice...

Kennedy looked much better tonight than the first two games, and he looked pretty snazzy those first two games. Great effort to get his first point, and he was pretty damn tenacious tonight. The rooks look GOOD

I seriously misjudged the title of this thread.

This. Kennedy really looked great tonight...Paille cannot be a healthy scratch forever.

I really hope they try to trade Dan Paille instead of sitting him every night. IMO He's a hardworking player, who won't ever be great, but deserves more than sitting in the press box every night. Try to trade him for a prospect or draft pick.

Kennedy is not just tenacious around the puck, he's becoming a source of frustration to the opposing team.

Like RJ said, "He's driving them NUTS!" It was awesome. And he got scrappy, too. He took on that Nashville player, and gave as good as he got.

This is the second time in three games he's gotten under the skin of the opposition and doled out some punishment. He's a gritty kid for his skill set. I love it.

Kennedy also draws a lot of attention in the way of penalties going hard to the net.

If he scores it tomorrow, I'm doing two shots just because it's against the Red Wings :)

He needs to make a better showing - If you ain't improving, you're sliding backward...straight back to Portland.

He'll need to get at least a point and really "wow" the coach.

Ice, do you mean a point tomorrow, or at all? Because he got his first against the Preds.

If either of the rooks (preferrably both of them) can put up points tomorrow against the Red Wings, it would be huge.

Tomorrow. He needs to "challenge" an established player, for a spot.

If he's not considered an upgrade (or close to) for an existing roster-spot, they'll see him as benefiting from further development (especially because he's AHL-eligible and can be sent down without issue.)

If he wants to stay up, he'll have to "steal" someone's spot - Particularly with the chance of Mair returning, and Paille (and Paetsch, potentially) in reserve.

Aha, right, and totally agree. His showing so far has been solid, but he needs to ramp it up to stellar. Tomorrow would be the PERFECT opportunity.
