not many details beyond that...no terms or length of extension released yet.

The question now becomes: Can Darcy ever be fired under Pegula?

well Pegula strikes me as the kind of guy who wouldn't think twice about buying out a contract.
He has always expressed admiration and loyalty towards the Lindy/Darcy duo, but I bet a couple craptastic seasons would change his mind.

Personally, I'm not a Darcy hater, I kind of want to see him run for a few full seasons with Daddy Warbucks backing him up.

Pretty much this. Actually, yeah everything about this.

Yup, this.

If you take a look at this team, and if they do very well this year, none of us will care about Darcy still being here. I think he finds talent where some other GM's don't.

I don't have a problem with this. I'm more for a coaching change if this team struggles first.

Darcy has done what he should've done since Pegula has taken over. The drafting of Grigorenko and Girgensons, Regher trade, trading Roy for Ott, John Scott signing, it's been pretty solid. Except for Leino, but that still might be an OKAY signing if Leino gets his shit together.

The contract just means he COULD be here.

If he flops, he'll be fired, and Pegula will just pay the balance off. Not that big a deal.

I also am interested to see how he continues to operate with PegulaBucks.
