Playing 6-7 minutes per night with large chunks of that time on the 4th line with McCormick and Scott will help him get out of his slump.

He really hasn't ever been a factor.

For like 20 games that one year he was.

Yeah, sounds like PSP.

I'll admit I was really liking what I saw from him at times last year. This year...i've only noticed him once or twice, and that's just cuz he's a foot shorter than everyone else.

I was the one who sounded nuts saying Gerbe wouldn't be a 30 goal scorer...

No, if Gerbe is scoring 20 points a year he will not be a 30 goal scorer on a good line. He's not talented enough, not tall enough, and if you think he can score as many goals as Vanek, I'm sorry to say you are HIGH.

Ehhhhhhhhh debatable... 30 definitely not, but 20 is still a stretch.

He certainly had the talent. Whether he gets it back or not due to injuries is another thing.

I think his back injury was serious enough that he'll never be the player he once was capable of being. I'm not sure he would even be on any other NHL roster than this one, and as more kids come up through the system, there won't be any more room for him.

Gerbe had a few chances yesterday, and he even created a bit of space for himself on one of them. It was a flash from him that I hadn't really seen since the end of 2011.

Perhaps there's still some hope, but I just don't see a future for him being on the team past next season. His contract runs out in 2014.

That turnover also went for the winning goal today, but it wasn't the reason they lost either.
