Darius Kasparitus scoring in OT of game 7 was a real low point for me too. I was more excited about that series than probably almost any other. I still want to cry when I think about Lemieux scoring to tie it up in the dying seconds and I remember that Jay McKee didn't tie up his stick.

i never understand why people think he was such an important part of our franchise. he barely played 2 years, and it was after like 15 in toronto. meh.

after yesterday's win we should look for a nice place for the Stanley Cup.

I've been there from the start, but I'm with Sky. Losing to Carolina in 2006 was my low point, too.

1. 2006
2. No Goal
3. Black Sunday

If I can count the Vancouver games (because Miller was OFF THE FUCKING CHAINS for that team), then the Golden Goal blows everything else away.

We had that series in the bag too. I broke a remote control when Kasparitus scored that weak ass goal on Hasek

I've been thinking about this a lot. I was having trouble deciding, there have been so many because I'm such an 'old' fan. Scotty Bowman was a really low spot for me; he finished blowing up the team I loved and gave us NOTHING as far as I remember (poor memory?). There have been low points since then, with Lindy's firing another sinkhole for me. But if I had to pick the absolute nadir of my Sabres fandom it would have to be the Goat Head jerseys. I felt so betrayed...not only did they change the logo, they completely changed the colors! They kept NOTHING as a bridge to history. Nothing. They chose colors to try to attract younger fans, colors that were an attempt to be tough & hip. It was a bald-faced money-grubbing move. The change in the logo I could have grown used to if they hadn't trashed the color scheme. The destruction of the logo nearly cut my ties to the Sabres after so many low years. But as we know, it's tough to kill a Buffalo fan. :shifty: It's bred into us. Even now, I find my spirit reviving after a few wins & decently played games.

Of course, completely ignoring the Buffalo media helps my spirits too. Poisonous bastards...

Funny thing is they had the most success in those jerseys.

i like the goat head and crossed swords best.

and red is one of the colors i hate the most. I'd love to get one of those jerseys...bad.

there was an old mockup of the goathead in blue and yellow, and it was really sharp, a great logo.

One thing I always wondered, not that it was a big deal or anything but when the team switched to black & red when leaving the Aud, why did they go with blue seats in the new building? I know in places like Calgary they have green seats as well as Florida until recently. In addition to the seat thing, anyone else think they should do something with the wall behind the 300 section? I mean, it's just, blue.

But, going back to jerseys here; let’s say someone here has a 2.0 game ready white slug and you need to customize it because there is just too much white on it as it is; who would you go with? Picked one up for about $30.00 on ebay back in the fall and the only player I can think of to slap on the back would be Myers. Think about this one for a sec; the Sabres have had better teams when wearing the slugs than our current threads to date.

And this is the type of crap that flows from my mind at 6am when sleep is not an option. Or at least, what our cats believe not to be an option. :|

If I remember right, I feel like the Sabres moved from the Aud to the F'N Center midseason, and they were still wearing blue-and-gold. Then they switched jerseys the next offseason. Maybe that could explain blue seats. Otherwise it, just goes to show that they changed jerseys to sell more, because they always knew they'd be changing back to blue-and gold. That way they sell a bunch of the new (red and black) ones, then when people get tired of those, just go back to a retooled classic and get everyone to buy those again. Oh, and then there were also those sperm jerseys. Fucking money-grabbing bastards.

Negative. They shut down the Aud in the blue and gold, and started the next season in red and black in the MMA.

Red and black were chosen as the team colors then because of the tie in to Adelphia's ownership, and the blue color scheme at the MMA was because of Marine Midland's naming.

That's right. Now that you mention it, I remember that they introduced the Goatheads over the summer or just before the season. A friend of mine loved them, and I remember making fun of him, because he'd talk about how the whole design was centered around the "intimidating eye" of the goat. We'd pick on him and say "Oh, that eye is soooo scary!!!" and "I'm so intimidated!!!" Good times.

If I remember correctly, it was immediately after the last game they wore the blue & gold (last game of that season). The players put on the new goat-heads and skated around a bit and an announcement was made that they would use them the following year. When those guys came out on the ice with the goat-heads on that first time, my brother and I were like "what the fuck is this bullshit?!" They looked completely wrong to me. However, I learned to love them really quickly, and still do. I'd like to see those blue and gold goat-heads Pat mentioned as our 3rd jersey.
