I saw this on the voting poll on WGR's website and was surprised that many voted "yes" that Lindy's firing was the low point as a Sabres fan.

Feel my low point was either No Goal and or Black Monday

Losing Drury and Briere and being forced to pay Vanek....yeah, that sucked.

You have to remember a majority of WGR's Sabres fans are from post-lockout era.

I'd say, "No Goal" on this side for me. Jesus, my dad almost kicked in the TV when they didn't call back that goal and he was mostly an Avs fan at the time.

Right now is my low. The No Goal was tough but at least we had a good team. Losing Danny and Chris was tough but still we weren't a terrible team with no hope. Right now I see no hope. I see a dismantling process ahead which will probably mean more of the same for the near future. Maybe we make some moves this summer, maybe we get a good coach, maybe this team get's it's pride back, maybe we start seeing the younger prospects gel with our vets and any added talent via trades and FA, but all that being said I think we are in for a sub par team for awhile. Definately this season and perhaps next season through the first steps of rebuilding. I think the future hinges on a few things:

A. New GM
B. A good coach
C. Smart moves in the offseason
D. Luck standing with us in the draft
E. The intangible idea of team "Swagger" coming back
F. Vets buying into the new coach and leading by example.

That being said, right now is my low. Not knowing if the crew we have can do the right things to digs us out and point us in the right direction.

1. New GM
2. New coach with a brand new system
3. New assistants, special team coaches
4. Revamping the blueline, getting tougher and players that actually play defense on the blueline.
5. Getting rid of Stafford (should be a top 3)
6. Someone like Tallinder to come play with Myers
7. Send Grigorenko to the Americans, this teams play is absolutely not helping him make any strides. at all at least down there he will get playing time.

Grigorenko can't go to the Americans.

The thread is about your low points as a fan. Not improvements. Herp Derp.

2. You just got a new coach and system. You'll probably get another one in the offseason.
6. You mean the Hank Tallinder who has played 10 games this year, and been a healthy scratch for 8? Stop living in 2006.
7. Grigs cannot play in the AHL until the CHL season is over. This has only been pointed about about 2000 times.

2. new coach, yes but we definately do not have a new system.

7. did not know that guy. u can point it out in a much humanly manner man not act like a little bitch about it right?

oh srry bout list i posted it in the wrong post. my apologies to everyone

most definately no goal. and briere drury loss for nothing then year later campbell for practically nothing. you know ever since the drury briere loss it's all been a low point. the only bright spot was Pegula family purchasing the team.

sabres have lots of young talent in the wings. theyll likely have a high pick this draft. this season sucks. if pegula gets the right people in the right places, theyll build on a solid foundation. sabres will be fine. not this year. maybe not next. but soon.

Oh yeah, this is a new low point, with no signs of relief on the horizon, and when the only solution appears to be gutting the poisoned core of a team and management you spent years and tens of millions assembling and then starting from scratch.

my low point was the day (or night) of the hasek sign and trade. my hero to the team i hated the most.

Post subject:  Re: Low Point as a Sabres fan

Those 3-4 years between the Hasek trade and the end of the lockout were torture for me. Between bankruptcy, not knowing if the team was staying, and barely finishing out of the playoffs every year, not to mention Marty Biron starting about 100 games a season. Yeesh, that was tough.

Also, who says cheese tits?

Might I inquire, who is indeed cool enough to call you 'cheese tits' and may we use variations such as 'cheese titties' or 'dairy boobs'?
