Yea, Enroth has kicked ass lately, but that is to be seen if it continues.

Shutout..... Nope, not gonna happen. It is virtually impossible when he is facing as many shots as he is.

I like what we've seen from Enroth. They really have worked him hard to get him back to an NHL calibre goalie. He's still not at a level to be #1 and may not ever get to that level, time will tell. I know Miller hasn't been steller by any means this season but he has been decent enough, at least for this team.... What I do not want to see is the Sabres turn into the Capitals. They have all this talent, especially a few years back, and not do shit once the playoffs hit. The biggest reason, inexperienced, young goaltending. They had a few has beens recently but no legit #1's. I am very afraid the Sabres are heading down that path if Miller gets traded.

I want to believe that if Miller had teammates that had the will to win, then he would be much better. I"m sure its hard to stand on your head when the team leaves you to the fire squad, game after game after game....

Insane to even consider trading miller. Crappy team would be a lot worse without him.

why would it be insane? we can't be too much worse. we sit 6th last in the league in overall points; a whopping 6 points up on the last place Panthers.

honestly holding onto a core that has done zip since this team was dismantled when drury and briere left isn't what we should be doing. it's time to consider other players. this formula hasn't worked in the past or present and it doesn't seem like it's gonna work in the future. vanek's the only one i'd keep out of the big three. miller i gurantee walks when he's ufa.

time to get something for these assets that will help us down the road.

The evaluation should be simple.

1. Do you have a goalie in the system that can perform at the same level or better than Miller? No, you do not.
2. Can you move perform a series if trades that nets you a goaltender better than Miller? Possibly, but highly unlikely without giving up significant assets. Not worth doing unless you're getting a goalie that you plan to keep for 5 years or so back.
3. Is Miller a pending UFA with no intention to re-sign? No.

No reason to move him this year unless you can get a stupidly good deal for him that will work. The decision process on what to do with Miller is best suited for this offseason, and most likely will be made at next year's trade deadline.

i think trading miller and pominville will get us enough assets in return that we will be a better team in overall production. trading a vezina winner for a future vezina winner doesn't really happen. more teams will be willing to "overpay" imo if he still has a year left on his contract rather than just go for a pure rental role for a month or so. but thats my opinion.

Trading two of the best players on the team for prospects or draft picks will not result in a better team next year or the year after that though. Because we sure as hell are not getting a Malkin/Crosby type player from those two guys. And their teams weren't good the first year they were on it either.

Unless we were getting a better goalie or a good enough goalie on the team. Losing Miller and Pominville for picks/prospects would instantly make this team worse.

Whatever you're smoking to say the team would be better because of the return you're insane. Trading those two players is full rebuild mode. We may get better in years after it, but not right away.

I'd rather us get as much value as we can for the shitty players, maybe even Pomminville. Miller I'm on the fence. I don't care at this point though.

I'm all about that move, but it's more likely he'd go to Florida, who's in the division, so....

That's exactly why I wouldn't trade Miller either.

i know it won't make us better right away. we are 24th in the league. honestly a jump down to 30th wouldn't be much of a difference. i'd rather start the rebuild now rather than toying with the idea for years and be a bubble team for the next decade. we don't need the superstar goalie if we are going to be an overall shitty team. time to rebuild. I wouldn't mind giving it one more shot with these guys but I'd hate to see them leave via free agency.

And that's exactly why you wait until free agency is actually an issue. Make that decision during the season in the last year of the contract.

look, the sabres might be rebuilding. and its no secret miller isnt a young pup anymore. unless the sabres get a super young stud in a deal involving miller, you dont make a move just to make a move. a late first rounder for miller isnt going to cut it. you want miller? you send the sabres elite young talent in return, or take your ass shopping for a goaltender elsewhere.
